Sinan Kubba: Gravity-twisting platformer VVVVVV should arrive on iOS and Android soon, after creator Terry Cavanagh said the mobile ports are "ready to submit any day now." According to Cavanagh, the Nicalis-developed Vita port is "imminent" too.
Aside from its roaring chiptune soundtrack, VVVVVV is known for its challenging, twitchy platforming. Players have to move quickly while flipping the direction of gravity if they hope to navigate its mazey landscapes. It sounds like a tough thing to translate well to touchscreens, but Cavanagh reckons he's done just that.
Alex DS. from Link Cable Gaming writes: " Before the 3DS’ online store joins WiiWare, DSiWare, and the PSP Store in the big farm of defunct digital stores in the sky, we’re taking a moment to put a spotlight on the best the service has to offer. These are the very best 3DS eShop games!"
To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of retro indie platformer VVVVV, developer Terry Cavanagh has released the game’s original source code to the public.
NintendoSoup:
Minimal design, maximal fun. VVVVVV was originally released as a Flash game in 2010, and since then it’s been ported to everything under the sun. I remember playing and loving the 3DS release years back. And I’m happy to report that the game is as good as ever on the Switch. In fact, this might be the best version yet.
