Many, many years ago, not long after Rome fell to a horde of Conquistadors riding Tyrannosaurus Rexes, video games used to be developed by a tiny handful of people working on a modest budget.
The Conquistadors are history, the dinos died off and Caesar got suckered by his senators. But the days of small teams making small games for a small price are back in full swing, a welcome indie alternative to gamedom's massive, big-budget dream factories
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.
From base building to swinging willies, here are the best survival games around, which include a couple of less than obvious picks.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
what about Super Stardust HD on Playstation Store? That game is even better than blu-ray games. Addictive, even more with the add-on.
Finally a decent list, though I have no idea why PAIN is on there, that games garbage...or why Ikaruga is missing (maybe they didn't enjoy it because it's too difficult?)
i dont think zelda should count I mean it is a downloadable now but it certainly isnt a downloadable original. And its a full fledged game.
Sometimes I think the new content on the PSN is a double edged sword.
I really like the fact that alot of the PSN games are more than just <xxx> HD, often being completely new IP.
But at the same time, I really do wish we could get things like Res and Ikuriga on the PSN.
Still, Superstar dust is the absolute business, and I can't believe it didn't make that list. Can honestly say, its probably my fav PS3 title to date, blueray or PSN.
Agree with above about super stardust, also I think they dropped the ball not having the new psn game Dark mist on the list. The game is phenomenal, its like the dungeon levels in zelda for the snes, only with sweet visuals and even more kick a$$ bosses.
