this game has been gold for awhile now. My only guess is that they want it to run better and maybe didn't have the new SDK tools in time to do so - so now they need Microsoft's help.

Just because they say it's 1080p/30FPS that doesn't mean that's a native resolution or a steady framerate. They're probably working on a day 1 patch to bring it up to acceptable standards, but aren't making the progress they'd expected.

I think this is to do with issues with ESRAM and if so this won't be the only game this happens with. I just hope devs don't delay PS games i the future because of whatever it is..

@Dudebro Developers have sad that ESRAM right now has been a bottle neck and it's something they have to figure out how to use it better. SO this could be an issue with the ESRAM. Not as dumb as it sounds.

But, having said that I don't think it's the ESRAM either. Even if they didn't use the ESRAM the Xbox One is still more powerful than last gen systems. SO best guess, which could be equally as stupid is that they just don't think there are enough xbox one's out there to sell enough games to be profitable since it still costs money to port. *shrugs* we won't know until they tell us.

I understand that the ESRAM has been causing Some developers issues, but never will ram cause a game to he delayed. Maybe they underestimated the time it took to polish due to the architecture of the xbone, but that's not just the ESRAM.

You will never see a dev say well, we didn't have enough ram, so the games delayed.

They would simply lower the resolution like we have seen with other games.

Blaming a game for delay because of ram is indeed stupid. Sounds like a ps4 fanboy beating their chest screaming GDDR5!!!!

If it were removed from the site only, I would assume that this could be a mistake on the website desiger's part. I am almost certain this game will release on the X1 though, simply because of the money. Activision wants X1 users buying Amazing Spider-Man 2, especially during the release of the movie.

Definitely not worried. But I'll be in Watch Dogs :)

Then they would have played it off as such. Upon contacting them, they said they are working on it and said its currently on schedule only for other consoles. If anything its just a delay.

Sony have the rights to make Spider Man movies not the games. Activision have rights to make the games.

Edit: Sony don't own Spider Man though Marvel does so Sony can't do nothing else with Spider Man unless Marvel lets them.

Activision has rights to Marvel licensed games, but Sony has rights to any games "based off their movies." Sony licenses the games out to Activision, however if they ever wanted to they can make games themselves as they hold rights to do so.

Activision has rights to make Spider-Man games, but they can't be based off the movies unless Sony allows it.

The REAL story is that they claim it's coming to PC as well, yet you can't pre-order it anywhere...not even Steam or GameStop. I was ready to pre-order this a few months back for PC, after replaying (first time was on 360) the TASM game at max settings, seeing how "amazingly" fluid it was. But like I said, the PC version is nowhere to be found.

Thanks for that. I was just in Gamestop on Monday, and they still had no listing in their system for the PC version, so I couldn't pre-order it. It might still show up on Amazon and/or Steam in the next week or so, since Gamestop now has it.

You do realise that Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Pictures (Columbia Pictures) are completely separate corporate entities.. that just happen to have the same parent company - SONY, right?

Sony Pictures sold the videogame rights to Activision, Marvel also get a piece of the money pie too.. Now, going on what you believe that SCE wanted to stop MS from having game.. then SCE wouldn't even allow the 360 to go forward.. But SCE have, in fact every Spider-Man game based on the movies has appeared on MS consoles, the original Xbox and the 360 - this is the only one not (yet) on the XB1 and the reason it's not is Activision's decision NOT Sony's.

Upon reading many rumor articles, like this one and the PS version runs at 720p, one can only wonder if this game is being super rushed to come out in time for the movie tie in. I dont buy movie games to begin with, but all other rumor articles point to lets rush it out so its on at least one platform with the higher install base. This has flop written all of it.

Wow this yet another contribution to gaming from that xbone and microsoft. My guess is the ESRAM isn't handeling spidermans open world with all the buildings to well. From the begining devs have been saying it takes twice as long to code for xb1. Microsoft has tough choices to make due to this, a title like this is time sensitve due to movies release and the timing is key to capture the sales during this time. Why is microsoft going to pay more to put more man power into getting the game out in time at risk of probably having the inferior version and end up losing money on the whole deal when its basically will be benefiting sony the most.
