TVGB: "Ever played a game demo before the game's release that was preceded by a bunch of small type on a black screen saying, "…this is not representative of the final retail product…bla, bla, bla?""
Neil writes: "The month of May is nearly over but as 2021 continues to roll on, the bargains still keep coming. That is no more true than with the variety of discounts, bargains and absolute steals that are present in the latest Xbox Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale with the one running between 25th-31st May 2021 delivering the goods for Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players. The Humble Codemasters Racing ReBundle 2020 just launched today. It features games like F1 2019, Dirt Rally 2.0, GRID, and more.
This month’s Humble Choice features twelve games. The headliners for June are GRID Ultimate Edition, Supraland, and Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice. New games are added to Humble Choice on the first Friday of every month.
Was surprised to see Hellblade again, they gave it away last year with Humble Monthly
As soon as I read that and have a crappy time playing the demo, at the end I say, "Well it's not complete should I give this another try when released?" To be honest though, if the demo game usually is not finished but sucks, the final product probably won't make a dramatical difference. Turning Point: Fall of Liberty comes to mind when they said they would take consumer thoughts into consideration. Still didn't turn out well upon release.
A demo, is just to supposed to represent a taste of how the final game may be.
hated demos, but liked the final product. I've also thought demos were decent, but the final version didn't really stand up. It really just depends on what they do with it after the point they were at when the demo was released.
I love demo's they help me not waste money if I like the demo I assume things can only get better as they always do its just a taste of the core gameplay etc.
Reviewers get to play preview builds of games why can't I? oh wait I usually do by downloading demos lol. I will assume for some devs demo's are a feedback tool and a way of marketing their work and sometimes throw something together to sell their product.
"this is not representative of the final retail product…"
^^Saying that is bad?, I'm glad they point this out.
The PR and media could be responding with an agenda to please PS3 fans and to save the sales they might have losted(did the same with GTA4 and DMC4). The PS3 demo may have improved but who's to say they didn't improve the 360 retail version from the 360 demo we'll have to wait and see what the comparison companies/media wiil show.
I doubt that Salom Pink Tint issue and missing Smoke effects etc are now fixed and the PS3 version of Grid is on par with the 360 version. Watch when the real retail comparison vids and pics blast in the web.
