Want to Play The Elder Scrolls Online Both on PS4/Xbox One and PC? You’ll Pay Multiple Monthly Fees

The Elder Scrolls Online requires a monthly fee on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but what if you play two or more versions? It wouldn’t be unreasonable to have a single monthly fee cover all, as it happens with other games (for instance Final Fantasy XIV: a Realm Reborn on PC, PS3 and PS4), but unfortunately that’s not the case.

Are you kidding me? The pricing of this was already questionable enough.

I feel if they would have spent less on that 10 minute cg trailer and all the famous voice actors (which in an mmo does it really matter?) we would have a much better game that might almost justify the expense we would have to pay.

Every friend who I've got on pc has said it's good but doesn't live up to skyrim or the elder scrolls name. I think console players (myself included) will struggle to see the value in this

Magicite3685d ago

this game has flopped big time...already

kazuma9993685d ago

Like I said before about the game. Shady business...... and ppl still will bitch at me cuz they were wrong when I posted this before :O

aliengmr3685d ago (Edited 3685d ago )

While not on the cutting edge of pricing structures, its very common for MMOs to charge for two separate accounts. And since the platforms are separate (which has been said since the beginning), you have to get two separate accounts.

Inconvenient? Sure. Shady? No, its a fairly standard practice with MMOs.

Now just to be clear, I think they could have done a better job with the pricing, but having to pay for 2 accounts really shouldn't be a surprise.

Only real surprise is why they chose to stick with such a basic MMO pay model while making it a multi-platform game. I think they really could have done a better job.

FFXIV allows players to use PS3, PS4, and PC with one monthly subscription and play with each other. Since War Thunder is heading in this direction, ESO should let console and PC players work together on the same servers and have one monthly fee to cover all three.

beebap3685d ago

FF14 yes all platforms play together that why not on xbox they will not allow this. Tho I think to play on different platform you need to buy new copy of game. At minute im upgrading ps3 character/ process to ps4 and states that to play on ps3 again i need a new copy of game (which will be cheaper on ps3) but was wondering if one subscription covers both.

Sathur3685d ago

give us a Single Player Skyrim 2 already. Or a remastered Skyrim for PS4 and Xbox One- I hear remastering is all the rage right now.

awi59513685d ago

Just buy the pc version to save time. Skyrim on pc can run a very cheap gpu and will still look way better than console version with the mods.

Matt6663685d ago

Or just make a new game or another fallout

andrewsqual3685d ago

I don't think he would have the resources to that ;)

RedSoakedSponge3685d ago

well tbh i dont know why you would wanna play on multiple formats anyway...

sdozzo3685d ago

PC now then switch when it comes to console.

specialguest3685d ago (Edited 3685d ago )

Some people are just looking for a reason to complain lol. The vast majority of mmo gamers will never buy the game twice just for the convenience of switching between two platforms. Of course it doesn't seem fair at all, but it's mostly a non issue since it'll only affect a tiny minority.

(Skyrim online installed on pc located in bedroom, but I'm chilling in livingroom and currently gaming on console. Wishes Skyrim account could be shared on console. Could go to bedroom and play mmo on pc, but too lazy to walk there.... DAMN YOU BETHESADA!!)

Tempest3173685d ago

I have 2 friends that play ff14 on multiple formats. This is a legit complaint imo

Hicken3685d ago

For the most part, I agree. Usually, people don't play the same game on multiple platforms, especially of the MMO format, and even more especially if there's a fee.

That said, it doesn't make sense to have people pay for so many subscriptions to the same game.

LOL...this game is just one big bucket of FAIL.
