I love that this game is kinda under the radar. Bioware isnt getting any free passes anymore, and I cant wait to see how they come out swinging.

Chris Priestly confirmed all 4 consoles and PC on the BioWare Forums.

This really is do or die for Bioware. Looking forward to seeing what they can do when the pressure is this high.

DeadlyFire3710d ago

You guys still call them Bioware. Its EA-Bioware/BiowarEA now. Its a different company than it used to be. They have some decent talent at their studios, but EA is known for not always making the best development decisions.

I have to wonder if this will be on PS3/360 or on current-gen only, considering they stated that DA:O and DA2 were a part of a trilogy and had game saves carry over in a similar fashion as Mass Effect.

Lucreto3709d ago

It will be on the PS3/360. They said it will be on both generation when they announced it. The new current generation will have to the Dragon Age Keep to create their saves.

The platforms that will get DAI are listed in the top of the page in brackets.

I, for one, am not too excited that this is a cross gen title. Sure, it's a such safer and conservative financial decision to include as many platforms as possible, but I can't help but imagine what could be created if Bioware had the time and resources and only focus on the PS4/XB1 and PC.

RegorL3707d ago

If I have understood Frostbite correctly You model for high end.
Then the tool "compiles/assembles" the models for each platform.

PS3 using Blue ray could store the data of PS4.
But it can not retrieve it as effectively.
It also have less space to keep it in fast memory.
Finally it can't render, fill textures etc as effectively.

So PS3 players will get a simplified environment.
Less detail (simpler 3D models, lower resolution textures, lower resolution output, fewer filler objects - flowers...). As this happens more or less automatically, why shouldn't EA/Bioware release on PS3/XBox360?
(Sure they need to test more versions. But they get a much bigger potential market. And customers of the PS3/XBox360 version might even end up buying it twice...)
But the game play will be the same

I'm huge BioWare fan going back over a decade, but they haven't had a great track record recently. I think this is their last chance to prove they still have their rpg mojo. Seriously, I wish EA would loosen up on their reins, let BioWare do what they do, and stop turning every franchise they take over to into dumbed down crap.

RegorL3709d ago

EA is giving BioWare alot of extra time with this release!
About one year...

Coolicy3709d ago

I know what you mean Kal853, they've got a lot of bad press with ME3, DA2 is obviously a rushed product, and SWTOR has failed to be profitable as a subscription MMO and has turned F2P.

Fortunately, as RegorL said, EA pushed back the release date of DA:I and the game looks pretty amazing now.

I'm a big fan of DAO, so hopefully DAI can recapture some of the DA magic.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Retro Review – A Nostalgic Leap Short Of Legendary

Dragon Age: Inquisition, developed by BioWare, is the third installment in the cherished Dragon Age series. It represents a major evolution from its predecessor, Dragon Age II, incorporating elements that were well-loved in the original Dragon Age: Origins but also introducing new features that stand on their own. While Inquisition improves upon Dragon Age II in many respects, it falls short of the exceptional standards set by Origins.

The quality of these free games has been awesome. Before anyone says they are not free I was already giving Amazon $6 a month for prime shipping and video this isn't why I pay for my subscription

Teflon02950d ago

Still technically paying for it, even if it wasn't your intent. They've been giving out games with Twitch prime, they just changed the name. It's the same sub as that was. If you weren't aware, great. But you're paying for it.

That being said, I don't personally care. For me as long as you're willing to pay that for 1 service and get more. I personally take it as free. Like prime video, music though the prime version is trash, and all the Twitch benefits are all free to me because I didn't care about those when I got it. Just comes with it.

Only noted because that's technically wrong as a defense to that argument, whether I'm on yourside with the initial statement lol

mkis007950d ago

It's free to anyone who has already been paying. IDK why people need to split hairs.

TinkerNation950d ago

How does Prime Gaming work? Do you keep the games, or is it only as long as you have Prime?

Germaximus950d ago

lol Nice distraction from how they're now charging people to increase viewership. It's "just an option." /wink lol
