UFHO2 released for PC on Desura and Humble Store

From Strategyinformer.com: "Italian studio Tiny Colossus (essentially just developer Ciro Continisio and composer Francesco D'Andrea) released their turn-based strategy puzzle game UFHO2 on PC today, the game is available through online retailers Desura and the Humble Store.

I'll let the developers describe exactly how UFHO2 works. "UFHO2 is a competitive turn-based game of wits. The gameplay revolves around moving on a board that represents a maze-like UFO, where rooms are interconnected and can be rotated to create or destroy paths. The goal is to get to some Gems in specific rooms before the opponent does."

Is Greenlight Running Out of Steam?

BNR: I saw it happening again. Another indie, fed up with being ignored by the masses, put his game up to download for free via the magic of Bittorent in hopes that somebody would pay it attention. Frankly, I can’t blame him, though I hope his is the last I see for a while. It’s not as though he hasn’t done anything to put his game out there- he has an active Twitter page and has obviously put lots of work into promoting his game. In spite of this, however, I hadn’t heard of Ciro Continisio’s game, UFHO2, or his company, Tiny Colossus, until I saw him giving his game away.

It does look like a lot of work has been put into it. I'd say it simply doesn't look like my kind of game though.

Yeah, same here. I think I remember seeing that game on Greenlight, actually, and I just skipped over it because it looked well put together, but not like something I would want to play.

I'd say that the biggest problem with Greenlight is that it gives indie developers the false hope that their games are going to magically "take off."

Sometimes people just aren't interested in certain games.

That and the process is still egregiously slow. It's taken eons for some games that were greenlit ages ago to finally get put onto the store.

@randomass171

That 'was' the case, but for a while now Valve has been "greenlighting" hundreds of games.

Valve is ditching Greenlight and making a more direct way to get games on Steam.

Step 1:Make Flash Game on Newground's
Step 2: Announce Console/Portable version of game
Step 3:????
Step4:PROFIT!

Are there any portable devices that can run Steam?

Jourdy2883668d ago

There's an Android version of Steam, but it's really just for the sake of accessing the store/IM.

randomass1713668d ago

That's a shame. Would be nice to see a portable Steambox get released at some point.

Never really had "steam" to begin with. The system still doesn't work very well.

i agree it never worked well.
