Elder Scrolls Online Launches Successfully in the UK, while Titanfall Overtakes inFAMOUS: Second Son

Elder Scrolls Online had a successful launch in last week’s UK Sales charts, debuting at Number 1 in the individual format chart and at number 2 in the all formats charts, beaten by FIFA thanks of the weight of its multiple formats.
In the other hand InFAMOUS: Second Son was overtaken by the Xbox One version of Titanfall in the individual format charts, and by Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes multiple platforms on the overall chart.

I love how the U.K. became the most important thing in the world when the Wii U wasn't doing so well in it and one again when the PS4 was showing great numbers, but now that something Sony related is falling behind something that isn't in it, its just the U.K...

I keep saying this, but it is only hypocrisy if it is the same people who are making the conflicting comments. If person A and person B are both fans of the same thing, and person A makes a statement that conflicts with a statement made by person B, then there is no hypocrisy.

But you don't mention that the article states TitanFall sold 36% less than in previous weeks. I wonder why.
Infamous dropped so did TitanFall surprise surprise games sell a lot at launch then start to decline in sales.
BTW worldwide infamous is still doing pretty well.

This is interesting but by how many copies , cause if it is straight software sales then it's safe to take away the number of x1's sold against physical copies on SS. (cause yes for every x1 sold a tiatinafall game is counted as sold)

Uk is the biggest of the European markets you covet do much by a lot too, and you can assume that if titanfall is given free with every xbox one, and most people buying a PS4 right now would be buying infamous, then the xbox one would be currently outselling the PS4 in the UK.

Elder Scrolls Online has got me curious though. Why is no one talking about that? All I'm seeing are people trying to find way to dismiss the Titanfall sells.

I never said, I didn't believe. Im just stating facts that titanfall is on more platforms. Even if the PC Version only sold 10 copies, that doesn't mean every copy sold was the XB1 version, am I correct? I rest my case.

Starting to do so?, lol, it was released a week prior to the released of infamous and was #1 and the fact that it overtook the newer inFamous is a testament of its legs.

Across all platforms I would certainly expect Titanfall to outsell Infamous, but I wouldn't expect the One version to.

Both consoles have a game-starved consumer base so both games should see a relatively good attach rate. The PS4 simply has a bigger consumer base to sell to right now.

Titanfall also has a couple of things against that attach rate: It is online only, it is a new IP, and it is available on PC (I know I didn't get the One version for that last reason).

The consoles are young though and both audiences are the enthusiastic type. I suspect both games sales were heavily heavily weighted towards launch week, and these tailing weeks are less significant. Titanfall probably "wins" this week through being bundled with the console.

At the end of the day they're both being well received. Both IPs and both dev studios are going to be well looked after. This is not a winner/loser scenario.

I disagree a bit there . There are enough titles of various genres to satiate most . I'm sure there are "dissatisfied" folks that do own a PS4 or a XB or both , but in real life , i havent come accross starved fellow owners yet .

Seems to me like a misconception , based on the weird idea that people were going to expect and only play exclusive .

So yeah Infamous , Titan fall , and FF14 are the main major console exclusive titles releases of the last 3 month , does this erase the multiplatform from our horizon or the indie sidedishes ? nope .

And such opinion is a bit discrediting the strength of some of the already released franchises . People arent exactly dropping titles like COD , FIFA , BF4 ? Fora etc , however long ago their release were . Especially online .

The way i see it , it's already the best launch year seen since the Dreamcast

Fair enough, like I say your millage may vary.

I am a relatively heavy gamer (well as heavy as can be with a life and 2 kids), and I ran out of console games I was interested in some time around December. But I also know I move on from games very quickly, while some others may be quite content just playing something like BF4 for a lot of months.

I'm not devaluing or dismissing 3rd party games at all.

Out of curiousity, did you buy Infamous and/or Titanfall within the launch week?

Bought Infamous first , just paid my copies of FF14 and as planned about to get Titan Fall next week .

I burn through solo games fairly too . But i kept my ps3 and vita around anyway , and play as much fighting games and a few mp stuff i'm vested into , so it keeps me occupied between big releases bursts .

Good TF is selling so well, otherwise the Xbone software would be overtaken by everything (x360 too). The only title in top ten is TF in fact. And checking better, only 5 titles in the top 40 for the xbone. In UK.

Infamous did extremely well considering it is a single player game and was not hyped as the 7 wonder of the world. It dominated Titanfall for 2 consecutive weeks and I bet worldwide number will be very strong.
