Best and Worse Naughty Dog Games

I think naughty Dog has done a wonderful job with making stand out games. I don't think that The Last of Us is one of those games. just my opinion I do think the game is good but not to the caliber as other naughty Dog games... just my thoughts tho.

I don't agree with The Last of Us reason why it's their worse game.

"What did Naughty Dog do at the end; they set it up perfectly to make a sequel (weather confirmed or denied). Instead of giving players a satisfying ending they left it undone and unsatisfying so that they may revisit the series in the future and again make a big buck."

They basically did the same with Jak 2, not really confirming a sequel, but basically implying that it'll happen at the end. Same with Uncharted 2. I think a lot of us who did play the Last of Us are set that if there is a sequel it'll be different characters, especially since Naughty Dog keeps saying Joel and Ellie story is over. The ending to to game could really mean anything, but to me it means that if they do do a sequel, it won't stare them.

EVERY naughty dog game ive play is stellar. in the age of the online multiplayer crazies, they're still putting out stories worth experiencing. as long as they're making games, the single player genre will be just fine.

Exactly. When I think of Naughty Dog I think of Way of the Warrior, Rings of Power, Uncharted and The Last of Us. When Uncharted 2 was being advertised and I recognized Naughty Dog, all I associated them with was those games.

Their best games for me are TLOU, Jak & Daxter 1 & the Uncharted Series. Jak 2 had a painful GTA style open world and the environments were bland, I didn't like the R&C shooting mechanics either. Jak 3 continued in that direction but was less tedious.

I tried to skip over the small chunk of spoiler for "last of Us" since I haven't played it, but from what I understand, its not the game that is bad, its the concept and where it's headed. And by concept I don't mean the game content, but the idea of how the company might go "series" a la Call of Duty. They were great (at first), but it later becomes pretty much the same thing, just a money maker with no intentions of creating an iconic impact. Kinda like a good movie where you wish there was a sequel, but knew that stopping it right then and there would make it much more memorable because you are always stuck with the idea "what if".

The writer has no idea. The Last Of Us has an ending and its a real ending. Kinda like the first Matrix.
Its not unsatisfiying at all. But you have to think about it just a little bit.
There is no cliffhanger at all. All is beeing said.

I was pissed the first time I saw the ending.
I was like uhhh really that's how we're going to close 17 hours of being in this world.

By time the credits finished rolling though I realised that it was actually amazing and the perfect ending to an amazing game lol. I wouldn't change a thing about it. I would give the reasons why I think it's perfect but not going to spoil it for josegallardo89. Dude go and play it!

Why doesn't anyone bring up Rings of Power for Genesis or Way of the Warrior for 3DO? Those were my introductions to Naughty Dog. Especially the famous code that allows you to see a topless woman at the beginning of Rings of Power after the Naughty Dog logo.

Jak 2 was bad. Maybe not bad, it was just really annoying. Basically every mission was a trial en error. I hated that game

I don't understand why anybody would enjoy navigating that badly designed maze of a city, crashing into hovercrafts every 10 seconds. Jak and Daxter 1 had better level design, platforming, music.

ND is the reason to buy PS4 eventually. Do want next Uncharted and TLOU sequel. And please port TLOU to PS4 aswell. Would definitely buy it again if it was 60fps and zero loading times. That game was probably game of the generation, insanely good.

I think the Jak games sucked, but I was young when playing them and may have a different opinion if I played them now.

I really wish ND would release a new Crash game in the style of the originals, just longer and better looking ofcourse. Id throw money at them for that!

i just think uncharted 3 wasn't any more epic than uncharted 2. when i played uncharted 1, i thought, man this game is AWESOME. then i played uncharted 2, and it made the first one look terrible.

i think we were expecting the same jump from 2 to 3. (at least i was.)

I wasn't expecting the same jump but the story pacing was weird. They started a lot of sub plots and kindof ended them suddenly without finishing them. The first half and second felt completely different too. My guess was they thought of the major sets first then wrote the story around them instead of writing the story first.

Like they brought up Drake's parents and history but dropped it within five minutes. Then the sub plot of Drake having something to prove was poorly handled by dropping it a lot then not closing it at the end.

I'm just glad the team that made UC2 and the last of us are making 4. They do a much better job than their new team. Still great devas though

Way of the Warrior is easily their worst. I never played Rings of Power. Is it any good?

It was decent. Played it back in 1992 for the boobs, lol. The creators at Naughty Dog digitized themselves for the fighters in Way of the Warrior at one of their apartments because they didn't have money for outside actors.

My least favorite (played) ND games were Crash 1 and Jak II. The frustration greatly overshadowed any joy I could feel while playing those games.

I really miss when ND focused on gameplay over story. Not putting down the Uncharted series or TLOU since those games are great but the greatest part about them is the cutscenes/story bits. The Jak and Crash series had minimal story development but the gameplay was phenomenal and they're a joy to play years later. I wish ND would go back to something fun to play instead of fun to watch.
