The Betrayer Review, A Beautiful but Confusing World | For the Love of Gaming

Cory Shultz from For the Love of Gaming writes:

I am so torn on The Betrayer because it is difficult to score a game that just didn’t fit the type of game I would enjoy. I went into The Betrayer thinking it was one game, but found out quickly that it wasn’t quite what I expected. I feel as if marketing this game as from the team that brought you F.E.A.R. is going to rub people the wrong way when they start playing. While I obviously didn’t think I was going to be playing a new version of F.E.A.R., I felt like I was going to be getting story that went much deeper than The Betrayer goes.

[Continue-Play] Betrayer Review

Continue Play's Heather Williams takes a look at Blackpowder Games' Betrayer. Perhaps, with a little more refinement to its core systems, a sequel to Betrayer could be something rather special. As it is though, Betrayer is a gorgeous game with plenty of atmosphere – but also a lot of frustration."
