GR-UK writes: Landmark's director of development David Georgeson confirmed that PvP was coming to the MMO soon.
"Right now we very much satisfy explorers, crafters and creators," Georgeson told us. "Those groups of people are well catered for right now. But as we add in risk and combat, and more of the depth and stuff to the worlds, we start to embrace more and more kinds of players."
He continued, confirming that the anticipated PvP features are on the way: "It won't be long before we have PvP, and it's just not normal PvP. It's like - well, I don't want to get too far ahead of myself - but you can imagine our sandbox toolkit approach to the world, also applied to PvP in a fully destructible world, go ahead and just let your imagination just go."
Take a break from the sun with our pick of the hottest MMOs for the summer months. Who needs time in the daystar anyway?
No Final Fantasy XIV mention eh? I've been on and off between patches for 2 years and its been a wonderful game.
EverQuest Next was cancelled last month almost as an afterthought in a blog post by Daybreak president Russell Shanks, to the surprise of no-one. What is surprising, however, is the strange malaise that led to it and the hopeful solution.
Landmark, the sandbox component originally envisioned as an incubator for Everquest Next, is still launching. It will be out this spring for $9.99.
