1UP: FaceBreaker Preview

From the start, the goal was to create brawlers so special you'd want to own the action figures. While the concept art sparkled, it was tough to believe the developers could bring the hyperstylized drawings into the gaming space without losing most of the magic. From what 1UP have seen so far, though, each of the 14 characters may not perfectly imitate the original artist's renderings, but their in-motion behaviors more than make up for it.

One prime example is Steve, a chunky, comic-book-loving ninja wannabe who dodges punches by dropping a quick smoke bomb on the mat, disappearing, and then reappearing behind his swinging-at-air opponent. And there's Voodoo, a 300-pound witch doctor whose sit-on-your-face finishing move elicits tittering groans.

Sometimes bad things happen on accident

From the article:
"Real Steel is, believe it or not, one of the top 10 best selling games on XBox Live Arcade. Considering the prevalence of the DLC, and the number of people playing, it’s a safe bet that Real Steel has become a surprisingly steady source of income for Yukes."

So a company is continuing to update and support a popular title.

... and the problem is what exactly?

GFB Reviews FaceBreaker for Xbox 360

GFB writes: "Facebreaker could have been a spectacular game. I couldn't help but believe that the developers made a genuine effort to create a fun game worth playing. Unfortunately, bad AI and broken elements create an ugly experience that turns most away within minutes of popping the disc in."
