Always a shame people have too be let go because of this hopefully they bounce back quickly.

If thuway is to believed then that doesn't sound as bad as SSM's project which was well in development (Well a very shaky one) and was supposedly going to be official announced at E3.

On a positive note good to see DemonNite is safe wish he or she would leak more and stop being such a tease :p.

Dark113717d ago (Edited 3717d ago )

I hope it's not GG new IP .. sony already canned SSM new IP.

Whitefeather3717d ago

The canned game was early in development. The GG game is three years in now
So no.

Bundi3717d ago (Edited 3717d ago )

Actually, that SSM game was on track to be shown at E3, Stig Asmussen had been working on it for FOUR YEARS before t was canned so I don't see why you believe GG's IP would be safe other than the fact that this is GG Cambridge and not GG.

Links or it did not happen: http://m.technobuffalo.com/...

iceman063716d ago

@Bundi...because the word had it that it was too close to what Destiny was doing.

Abriael3717d ago

The Guerrilla studio affected is Guerrilla Cambridge (Killzone Mercs) not Guerrilla Games

Xsilver3717d ago

"Certain projects are not coming together. IE Concepts broken, ideas strong on paper but not in application, or inability to hit milestones."

Clearly the game wasn't coming together but we'll never know but all i know is Sony plays no games with their first party Studios that's their bread and butter so i don't think we have anything to worry about yet.

Bonkerz3717d ago

MS has so much announcements they have to cut out time from E3, they are at PAX Sony isnt.. Glad i picked the X1 and didnt sell into the PS4 hype.

kingdom183717d ago

Neither will Nintendo. But I bet Sony will be at TGS and Microsoft won't be. So your point is? Your foolish to think that both parities don't cut out announcements for E3.

Silly gameAr3717d ago

You'e selling into hype alright. May not be the PS4 hype, but the MS PR campaign is working on you big time. You guys must not be big into history. It's like we have to go through this every new generation with xbox fanboys. ugh.

chickenface3717d ago

Glad i bought into the PS4 hype and not the xbox one PR extravaganza. Funny thing is that Sony are holding their big cards for E3, as they haven't made any major announcements in terms of games as yet. ha ha ha prepare for a massive surprise from Sony at E3.

DigitalRaptor3717d ago (Edited 3717d ago )

I'd say Sony's silence should be a little bit more worrying for someone in your position. MS have been desperately pushing their "smoke and mirrors" PR statements and anti-consumer, monopolistic bullsh*t on everyone from before the console were announced to even now. Penello and Larry's sad attempts to convince discerning games of the lies they were telling to desperately sell their brand when caught in a corner.

Sony has been modestly silent, but performing extremely well. There are lots we know about upcoming PS4 games. Sony has a crap-ton more announced for the platform - we all know this. We know there are more developers making games for PS4, from many different angles. 1st, 2nd, 3rd party. Free-to-play, Japan, MMO, indie, AAA, Morpheus.

Speaking of that particular piece of hardware they've announced, they are just ready to ride with it. They are riding that strong wave that they have since Feb last year. They are bringing the games, but Xboys like cheap, short-term thrills. Those that have bought into the PS4 hype have done so based on the long-term implications of what it has to offer.
------

"Calm before the storm" is how I like to visualise things. E3 is going to be one to remember, not only for MS, but also for Sony, who are hiding things pretty damn well. And hiding things is not something they have ever been strong at.

The PS4 hype is more than real. XB1's hype is an artificial reconstruction from the ashes of an absolutely terrible and worthy controversy. Titanfall's underwhelming performance is testament to this.

DriveClub director confirms he’ll reveal his next game this year

Paul Rustchynsky, who was additionally lead designer on several MotorStorm titles at Sony‘s Evolution Studios, is currently working on an unannounced project as part of Avalanche Studios’ new Liverpool development team, which was formed last summer.

deleted876d ago

Nice. I really like Avalanche's Apex system, it can make some pretty stunning environments. Hopefully it'll translate well into a racing game! (assuming that's what he's working on)

Magog876d ago

He specifically says it won't be a racing game of any kind.

deleted876d ago

Yea, I see he posted a different tweet clarifying that now, but that was not posted in this original tweet or any of the replies. I apologize for not scrolling through all of his Twitter account.Thanks.

Magog876d ago

@OtterX It's in the credit URL actual story. No need to get upset.

MIDGETonSTILTS17876d ago

Motorstorm 2 deserves a remaster.

The balanced monster trucks vs dirt bikes.

chicken_in_the_corn876d ago

Why a remaster? A new game would be so much better

MIDGETonSTILTS17875d ago

Because it’s been designed already…

Azfargh875d ago

I would be happy with just that at 60fps... but... if it were a new game with course maker, 50 cars racing at the same time, focusing on Pacific Rift and Monument Valley... I would feel way better

MIDGETonSTILTS17873d ago

That sounds like alotta extra work for content nobody is clamoring for.

Classic maps for me please. I actually want the game to release.

MaximusPrime_876d ago

"To set some expectations, I'm not working on a racing game.
So sorry, no DRIVECLUB sequel, MotorStorm successor or ONRUSH offshoot.
This is something very different to anything I've worked on before"
So it will not be a racing game. That's a shame. :(

moriarty1889876d ago

Agreed. Driveclub and Motorstorm were great games and deserve sequels. Onrush was fun for me as well. I wonder what type of game he will unveil when the time comes.

Mr_Luke876d ago

Damn, i hoped a DC or Motorstorm sequel... :( let's see what they can pull out from the hat.

I cant wait to get this day one. I'm quite excited because it's not often I get to play high quality games on psvr.

Neonridr1836d ago

sadly games like these are few and far between in the VR world. But devs are learning more and more and games seem to be getting more grand in nature. Exciting times ahead hopefully.

Can't wait to give this a go.

Knushwood Butt1835d ago

How is this game being marketed?

jukins1835d ago

Mostly word of mouth atm. Most people who played London heist are pumped for this game myself included. But once reviews come out I'm sure well see the usual small budget internet blitz ads

Knushwood Butt1835d ago

I wasn't even aware it was coming out where I am until I stumbled upon it on an online retailer. Still, got a pre-order in.

jukins1835d ago

Yea Sony seems reluctant to do traditional TV ads for vr games. But if any game should get a TV ad campaign this is certainly one of them.

How the developers of Driveclub survived the end of Evolution

While Evolution is no more, its spirit lives on at UK racing game developer Codemasters, who snapped up the Driveclub team just a month after Evo shut down and set them to work on a new racing game that would become OnRush.

Bismarn2260d ago

Are they going to continue the same development style of releasing a game before it's finished (or even well underway) and then developing it through patches for the next two years like they did with Driveclub?

letsa_go2260d ago

haha That was such a shitshow! Hopefully they have learned from their mistakes.

pody2260d ago

You actually described early access. Interesting.

_FantasmA_2260d ago

Driveclub is my 2nd favorite racing game. Only the Midnight Club games (all of them) top it. I may get GT Sport later this summer. I can't wait for a sequel if they somehow get the rights to it. This makes me want to reinstall it even though I have the platinum.

Zeke682260d ago

You should never had uninstalled it to begin with !! ;)

_FantasmA_2259d ago (Edited 2259d ago )

I only have the 500 GB hard drive. I have to delete games to make space for the newer games. I need to get a portable hard drive so I can have space for all my games.

Zeke682259d ago

Don't take it like that. I just meant Driveclub is a personal favourite of mine and I would never ever uninstall it myself. But I totally understand the lack of space.
Now I have 2 TB HDD internal in my PS4 Pro and a 3 TB external and the internal is full since waaaay back and I even need to uninstall games on a regular basis on my external so: more space = more games = same problem hehe ;)
Game on !! ;)
And buy a 2 TB internal, you'll thank me later ;)
