Straight and to the point. Hopefully there's a price drop soon though... game seems too short.

WeAreLegion3705d ago (Edited 3705d ago )

I beat it in about 10 hours. I found every blast shard and beat every mission yesterday and got in around the 20 hour mark. I'm going through it on Expert as evil now. Should be about 30-35 hours to platinum. I will admit there seems to be less content than previous inFamous games, but it's definitely worth full price.

Edit: The side missions are fun, with more content coming later, too. I imagine they're working on a full DLC story add-on, like Festival of Blood. I particularly enjoy the spray painting mechanics. Inventive and unique use of the controller.

LogicLee3705d ago

Oh wow, I didn't realize there was so much extra content. Maybe I shouldn't wait then... Are the side missions any good?

Lunarassassin3705d ago (Edited 3705d ago )

@LogicLee
I personally think the side missions are fantastic.
You basically go round distrupting DUP operations in order to reduce distrupt DUP activity in that district then when the control gets low enough you have a showdown with them.

LogicLee3705d ago

Sounds fantastic. Yeah, Festival of Blood was pretty awesome -- hopefully we do see something along those lines.

Thanks for all the replies! I think I'll pick this up this week. 20 hours seems solid for a single playthrough, especially considering the work they put into those visuals.

Eldyraen3705d ago

I don't mind the length although from what I've played so far it does seem shorter than 2 (53% ATM). I don't think it needs a price drop either.

It is a solid game no matter what but the more real Seattle lacks some of the charm of satirical cities in the other games (bus stop televisions are where it can be found now instead of on every street corner). Seattle carries its own though as the setting is superb just different in more than just locale. There are still some subtle touches that play on the originals but not much.

Essentially Infamous 1 and 2 were like comics and SS is more like a live action tv adaptation of it. It is just more believable and down to earth in comparison which is both a good thing but somewhat disappointing at the same time (some monsters from 2 were awesome).

starchild3704d ago

I guess I just love the setting because I use to live in Seattle and I miss the city. Plus the art direction and visuals in general are very pretty.

aquamala3705d ago

I think I'm about 3/4 in, the game length and world size does seem a step back from Infamous 2...

joab7773704d ago

I dont even mind the size of the world. I would prefer a smaller detailed world with a lot going on.

I would love a super hero game in which it takes place over a year...a journey to choose who u want to become. There is a main story but many side quests. The choices are greyed and u dont really know until the end just what ur choices have made u. Superman had some VERY hard choices to make. Some of the choices in the original infamous were done well but I hate blue and red.

It would be cool to slowly become more powerful. And Seattle is the perfect sandbox. Its all so damn fast though...and then its over. And gamestop is sure to tape a flier to the game saying that u will get $40 to trade it in in a few weeks. Hmmm

Conzul3705d ago

The inFamous Paper Trail missions add a string of interactive crime solving missions involving a Paper Conduit.

I think they'll add one set every week or something, and at the end Delsin might end up with a new power - I hope.

Oh and they're free. So there's that......

joab7773704d ago

Exactly. This is my issue with so many open world games today like far cry and AC. Theres shallow character progression thats always story based and someone needs to end this zone gameplay for good. Clear this area and then clear that area.

There really is no true side quests...making the game quite short. I would LOVE a super hero game in which u take a journey becoming a great super hero...leveling up etc.

That being said, it is stunning and the gameplay is top notch and while u r on the ride...it is simply astonishing. Then...its over. U can play again but even the choices r silly because u already know what u r going to choose.

So mediocre and repetitive, let's hope Watch Dogs can be a much better open world game

WeAreLegion3705d ago

Please stop trolling inFamous articles. I'm not reporting you, but stop. It's ridiculous.

Bassmint3705d ago (Edited 3705d ago )

Great, that's your opinion. Now clear off if you don't like it, because alot of people do.

system223705d ago

i don't know if i'd say mediocre. I mean - you're entitled to your opinion, but most pro critics and gamers alike seem to think pretty highly of it... and I would agree with them. I don't think its the best game ever but its definitely the first must have game on the ps4.

Cryptcuzz3704d ago

Your comment is mediocre and repetitive (especially when it comes to articles related to this game -jelly much?)let's hope your next comment can be a much better comment.

I finished it playing using good karma. I prefer evil karma more so I saved that for last and I'm going to start that tonight. The game is astonishing and a blast to play.

Anything an 8 or above and I'm good with that but some of these scores below an 8 and as low as a 6? I question your agenda, bias or maybe it's time you just stop gaming because you obviously stopped enjoying playing video games. This game is gorgeous, plays smooth, great characters and voice acting, nice level design, progression with your powering up and I flat out fun to play an explore the area.

I don't see how you can take all that into consideration where nearly every aspect of the game is done at an extremely high level and drop this game down to just ok / rental status. Regardless of personal preference, a great game is a great game.

Drekken3705d ago

You just said exactly what needs to be said in every review under 8/10.

I question their agenda. I would even go as far as to question if they even like games.

Sucker Punch went from a pretty good, middle of the road studio to AAA status with this game. It is so polished.

Magnes3704d ago

I agree SP has got some real confidence too, they set the game in one of the U.S. rainiest cities water effects and reflections and lighting effects everywhere. Clean/smooth/delicious

scott1823705d ago (Edited 3705d ago )

Such a cool game, and a gorgeous open city.

Eldyraen3705d ago

I had a group of citizens on top of a ruined dup truck somehow but couldn't get a good picture of them cheering me. It was awesome though as looked as they were protesting. Unfortunately it hasn't been reenacted so either was a cool bug or scripted moment.

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM123d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck123d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati123d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos123d ago (Edited 123d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88155d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183154d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie154d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
