The Legend of Zelda’s Master Sword is in inFamous: Second Son

inFamous developer Sucker Punch Productions has a thing for placing easter eggs into its sandbox environments, inFamous: Second Son being no exception. Not only are there many references to the Sly Cooper series—which it developed—, but there's even one for The Legend of Zelda.

Platform exclusive easter eggs... I'm down

AceBlazer133707d ago

Just finished my good playthrough. During my playthrough i unlocked a hoodie called Xbone and i found 'Cole McG's Electronics Store'. Don't know if the Xbone thing was intentional but damn did i laugh.

There's also Cooper and MacGrath.

I was also thinking Salmon Lake might be a reference to Sam Lake of Remedy, but it might also just be an actual building in Seattle. I've been meaning to google it but its not like I'm on the internet right now... oh, wait. I am. *Googles* Nope, nothing for Salmon Lake, Seattle, Just "Salmon House".

There's a lot of good Easter eggs in this game, there's a kids drawing of the sly gang in the play ground.

zeuanimals3706d ago

Delsin's ringtone is also the theme of Sly Copper Thieves in Time.

mrmarx3706d ago

was the hoodie 720p when you put it on?

Exies73707d ago

Yes, but why can't we use it?

Honestly I really changed my mind on Fi with the remaster because they didn't make her interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds, that drastically changed my views on her

Inverno98d ago

Technically she's in ToTK but obviously can't take any other form than the sword she was made into. Also the companion feature has been done plenty of times in Zelda, I don't think it'll add anything new. If anything should be brought back it should be the Minish.

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM124d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck124d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati123d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos124d ago (Edited 124d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

Directionless Modern Zelda Should Return to its 3D Roots

Matt from We Game Daily writes "The Legend of Zelda series has gone in a different direction. One which, try as I have, I just can’t get on board with. Here is why I think Zelda should return to its 3D roots."

Amen! A good, tight, Zelda game with a focus on dungeons and puzzles. Let people have the new style Zelda if you gotta, but let us have the OoT style games too. That's not without precedent either, the handheld 2D Zelda's in the style of A Link to the Past etc have coexisted alongside the 3D Zelda's before

FinalFantasyFanatic129d ago

As much as I like BoTW, TotK, I need my traditional Zelda games as well, I could not endlessly play the open world Zelda games, plus it's harder to keep those fresher than the traditional games.

Eidolon129d ago (Edited 129d ago )

BotW was just as fresh to the franchise as OoT was. TokT was great but the next LoZ would have to move from that formula to be fresh again. There's only so much they can do with the hardware. I think they focused too much on making the world big instead impactful. I felt the world was sort of empty and repetitive in TotK, sure there was a lot to do but no more difference a Ubisoft game..

anast129d ago

I wouldn't worry too much. Nintendo knows what they are doing.

Ristul129d ago

Wind Waker had a perfect balance of open world and a cool, well hand-crafted design. Maybe try to keep the open world but put in effort to make more memorable story driven quests and locations.
