Infamous: Second Son looks great and plays well enough, but ultimately, the combat, world and story never proves gripping enough to come back for more.

Played the beta, enjoyed it, it is fun but I would take inFamous over Titanfall anyday.

Actually, I've played all of those. None of them provide nearly the same experience as Titanfall.

I play on PC, PS4 and PS3. I don't really miss out on much.

Exactly. If you have played the past Infamous games, then you will most likely love this one. Same gameplay, with minor changes and differences (powers, moves, traversal etc) but with a next gen lick of paint.

Seriously, what are people expecting? If you actually ask people what they want from next gen games in terms of gameplay, they won't even be able to answer you. They just repeat the buzzwords "next gen gameplay".

I think the hype train got to a lot of people, and reviews. Even Sessler said he was more involved in the story than he EXPECTED. Which is silly, I think there's being set with the right amount of tension before a game's release and then there's just setting yourself up to be disappointed. Reviewers should go into these things not expecting to be floored EVERY time. I respect Sessler a lot, and have for a very long time, but I disagree with his, and this one's review PRACTICE. They can give the score they will, I just wish they went into it with a better outlook.(Sorry for caps lolol)

I dont buy any of these reviews for a minute. I think most of these guys are way more critical on the PS4 and give way more passes on the x1. X1 version has inferior graphics an a worst framerate but one more shadow here then the PS4 ver, uh, x1 ver. is better. Higher score! And the x1 fanboys are all a bunch of dishonest sobs so, they'll take it and run with it. Look at TF for example, last gen graphics, 792p, 6v6, bots, no SP, barebone game modes, screams of rushed, frame drops galore when all they said is how important framerate is, and that it has to be solid, tearing galore, yet gets praised from here to kingdomcom and had WAY more hype surrounding it than infamous, but infamous isnt rewriting the book on gameplay and oops its no good/ok

from what i've played so far i don't think thats a completely wrong statement , beautiful , having fun but a little blahhh
and the gimmicks of the mic , touch pad and sixaxis remind me of a early vita game

I have to say I called this. Getting marked down for not driving the genre, not redefining gaming as we know it, not changing your life forever, as if games have to do all that to be good. Once again Playstation exclusives get held up to a mythical yardstick no one else has to aspire to.

And lets be clear. 6 is a BAAAAD score. A game that is technically brilliant, artistically beautiful, plays super smooth and is fun, does not deserve a 6 because it failed to reach some grandiose goal that you imposed on it yourself. It did exactly what it set out to do, and that was entertain, and entertain well.

I believe that "chugging" is due to the unlocked frame rate. If the game ran at about 38 fps a lot of the time, it would still look a little less smooth compared to a consistent 30fps. But this game goes as high as 60fps depending on the scene.

I think the "is fun" , is where the string snaps. Sure weve all tried to buy a new computer and be wowed by graphics, but after a short while you get used to it, and from then on the game has to have more strings to play on.

I even found gta5 booring after a while, eve tho the world and graphics were nice.

Why all the crying about low review scores? I thought the "sophisticated" Sony fans stopped caring about reviews anyway because of the so called bias against PlayStation exclusives. Seems to me that if you liked the first two then you will like this one. I loved the first two so this will be the first title I buy when I get a PS4.

Yeah, everytime a Sony exclusive gets anything below a 5/5 someone cries conspiracy on here. It seems like Second Son will be a great experience for hardcore Infamous fans...but it won't offer the same type of jump that we are seeing from the Witcher 2 to the Witcher 3.

And I already expected it to be lacking it content as other Infamous games lacked significant content as well and had repetitive side missions. Repetition occurs in every open world game to an extent, but at least AC: Black Flag has variety in the missions.

This one doesn't seem to have much variety at all. Shame because it looks like it has a great story.

Personally, I just want consistency from reviewers. I've been on this site and have read way too many reviews over the past seven years to know that some sites are all over the place with how they review games.

It's typically not low scores that tick people off, it's usually unjustified or biased reasons for low scores. If you want to ding a game's score because it didn't push the envelope or didn't have an engaging story, you should expect to carry that standard with all of your reviews.

So let me get this straight...It's pretty 1080p and 30fps beautiful, has amazing particle effects, you can fly around using superpowers, get immersed on whether you play as a good or bad guy, and kick ass all in one game and still get a 60% out of 100%? That's like getting above idiot/moron in school! But...if you have no story, 792p a not so stable frame rate, guns blazing and if you die it's no big deal, because a few seconds later you are on stupid shooting spree again you get a better score?
