I respect scores but I don't like sessler, he's a flip flopper.

OlgerO3692d ago

He is the lowest review on metacritic, with the average above 80

Gamer19823692d ago

Doesnt help he uses a stupid 5/5 system either meaning dropping 1 point drops a game to 80/100..

MidnytRain3692d ago

Gamer1982

Or maybe the entire idea of averaging together game scores is stupid?

Yodagamer3692d ago

Sessler gave it a 3/5 which equals good according to his score set up and an 80 on meta critic is also good. So their equal when compared to their respective score set up, but metacritic took his and changed it to theirs so it's their fault.

n1kki63692d ago

At yoda gamer, correct, but his score equates to a 60 on metacritic which is not good.

HaVoK3083692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

No, he is not. The game got two 60s and like twelve 70 scores.

But, Sessler is all about "Progressive" games. Games push the Liberal agenda. It's just who he is now. He prefers a game like Gone Home. Don't agree? Why read or discuss his reviews.

Opinions. That is all reviews are. Deal with it.

No_Limit3692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

LOL, you people hailed Sessler as God of all reviews when he gave Ryse a 2/5 and now calling for his head and being a Xbox fanboy when he gave this game a 3/5. http://n4g.com/news/1398384...

N4G continues to amaze me. LOL

Edit Below:
Well, I rented Ryse for the very same reason I am going to Gamefly my copy of inFamous, both are just standard AA action games. Was hoping inFamous is going to be something special in term of an action open world game but it looks like the same old inFamous/Prototype game with prettier graphics.

HaMM4R3692d ago

Thats because ryse was a pile of wank and deserved the score. From what I've seen, infamous is atleast a 7.5 - 8.5.

troylazlow3691d ago

Most of the high scores are from sites with "play station, PS3, Sony" in the title. Wonder why they gave the game a 100% score?

randomass1713691d ago (Edited 3691d ago )

How many people getting upset at Sessler have actually played inFamous? It's just his opinion and it doesn't have to match yours. I bet this new inFamous is going to be loads of fun, that doesn't mean everyone HAS to enjoy it. Besides he doesn't even hate the game! 3/5 is average at worst, meaning he thought it was alright, just nothing amazing. And that's OKAY. He doesn't HAVE to like it.

Also, really? He hates Sony games? If he gave Ryse a lower score, doesn't that say something? Come on guys, throw the fanboyism out the window and just enjoy the game.

FITgamer3692d ago

I think he is one of the best reviewers out there, at least in his presentation, but sometimes his scores just don't make sense. Like Titanfall he mentions some flaws, says the campaign portions leaves something to be desired, then gives it a perfect score.

plaZeHD3692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

Have you seen his Hitman Absolution review? He says things that don't even make sense. He's a huge flip flopper everybody should know this by now.

buttclown3692d ago

He said in a past video that if it wasn't for metacritic that they would do reviews without scores.

aftershock3692d ago

He gave titanfall a perfect score because he's a microsoft blowhard. he always has been

lolCHILLbro3692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

So i guess the game doesnt matter when reviewing it, if its on PS4 then it has to be reviewed high then, the only way to earn creditibility when reviewing games is to rate all PS4 games a 10 and all Xbox games a 5 then according to you all, maybe inFAMOUS is just the same old open world game weve seen before, just because its pretty doesnt mean its any good, just look at Killzone or Ryse

Flutterby3692d ago

The thing is Lilchilltroll, second son is an amazing game as well as THE best console graphics to date, this is the first time I have been wowed this gen.

Anyone on the fence about it definitely buy it. I would give it a 9/10

zeuanimals3692d ago

In June of last year he was very adamant about wanting 1080p 60fps to be standard, or atleast one or the other. Then the Xbox One comes along and he says it's all about gameplay and how graphics, resolution, and performance isn't everything.

http://www.cinemablend.com/...

I used to respect Sessler in his G4 days, but now... The guy's a joke.

Yodagamer3692d ago

So he's a bad person for wanting something everybody wants on consoles, but he like alot of people are kinda accepting it might not be the case. It's not just him that wanted it and then decided maybe i should just have fun with the game.

AndrewLB3692d ago

Yeah, he did say 1080p/60 should be required on next-gen consoles. Unfortunately neither Sony or Microsoft were able to release a product that had the processing power to do so. And I don't care if the PS4 is more powerful because the fact of the matter is 1080p has been a standard for a LONG time, and BOTH Sony and M$ half-a$$ed their consoles to cut costs and increase profits at the expense of the gaming community and the coming generation of games that will never look better than PC games on Ultra these past two years. Their budget AMD APU's just don't have the graphics processing ability required

Orionsangel3692d ago

I only like a game critic when he agrees with me. WAAAH!!!

aceitman3692d ago

just what he says at the beginning , reminds me of when he couldn't get a ps4, the same attitude and I see y he gave it a low score cause sony set rules. I can see he hates sony even more from when he was let go from g4tv.

joab7773692d ago

I don't respect this score. He's mad b/c he was asked not to spill anything for anyone. Really?

Enigma_20993692d ago

@OlgerO, Gamer1982, n1kki6

Again, how is this Sessler's fault? He grades games according to HIS system, not Metacritic's, and he definitely didn't tell Metacritic to use his score.

@TheFallenAngel

Maybe he's tired of people like you giving him s*** no matter what he does?

XboxFun3692d ago

I love it. What it comes down to are the sony fanboys bitter and upset that Sessler rated Titanfall higher than inFamous. Break out the tears as you claim everything from paid by MS, bias and everything else to defend a sony game that once again is all flash and no substance.

its the same game as part one and two with a shinier coat.

Bubububu Titanfall is CoD with mechs....

but Titanfall doesnt have two prior games with the same formula as inFamous so just cut the lame excuse out.

just like last gen, just like Knack, just like Killzone, every review that rates it low is paid by MS and is bias.

Love it!

chickenface3691d ago

I also love the fact that "like last gen" the PS3 had over 10 exclusive games averaging above 90. The 360 didn't even have 10 exclusives

GTgamer3691d ago (Edited 3691d ago )

Adam Sesslers logic
Titanfall-5/5 overlooks all problems with the game(refer to angryjoe review to see the problems labled ) gives the game a perfect score even tho a perfect means a game is almost flawless but we All TF is far from flawless.
Infamous-3/5 nitpicks every single thing he can find not saying the game is perfect but when you have to say comments in the reviews like oh but its pretty makes me wonder its a next gen were you not expecting next gen visuals :/.

SniperControl3692d ago

Surprise, surprise, Sessler is still throwing his toys out of his cot because Sony didnt give him a free PS4.

AgitatedOcelot3692d ago

To be fair they did. And they even engraved it with his name.

But I don't really agree with his opinion of games as a whole all that often. And he does seem biased.

DeadRabbits3692d ago

The must of engraved "knobhead" on the PS4 cause he still still bitter.

Why o why3692d ago

Maybe they engraved 'bell end' on it

Christopher3692d ago

@Why o why: I just want you to know that at least one person got your joke there ;)

SniperControl3692d ago

@dead

Ah man you crack me up so much haha

That was a true gem!

extermin8or3692d ago

hahahaha @dead: I don't know what you did to get down to one bubble but that comment was genuinely funny. Bubble up. :p

LordMaim3692d ago

His disclaimer at the beginning of the review is telling, speaking at length about the requirements of the Sony embargo. It sounds as though he took it personally, which may have influenced his opinion.

BattleTorn3692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

I think this is exactly the case...
- as in "if your not going to let me show it, I'm just going to score it low"

Even if it's not to hide flaws, the embargo requirements are troubling nonetheless

I don't believe inFamous 2 reviews were bared from disclosing the boss battles, and secondary-karma powers.

Gamer19823692d ago

I agree with this... Seems he really didn't like being held back and hit back on that..

S2Killinit3692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

he did the disclaimer to suggest that Sony doesn't want people to see it because it is bad. its an old technique used by IGN. basically find any way to bash and create doubt in consumers.

if anything Sony probably knew this guy would be bashing the game and so prevented him from giving away the whole story in doing so.

Cryptcuzz3692d ago

Yeah, I have never liked the guy. How did he even become relevant in the gaming industry with such bias opinion. Once in awhile he will throw in a good score for a PS exclusive, but a lot of people know how he is already.

What you are saying, he's like hey, if they don't let me talk and review about it first so I can get all the traffic and attention, then I am going to show them by giving it an unfair low score.

He's a cry baby that loves attention, whether good or bad, he doesn't care as long as he's getting attention.

BattleTorn3692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

I get the impression that Sessler often makes his scores his games based on personal issue with developer decisions.

In this case it would be Sucker Punch disallowing reviewer to even show the boss battles, and the 2 power acquired later.

I have a tendency to agree with him, if this was what affected his scoring.

A reviewer shouldn't have to withhold footage of half the games super powers in order for the player to have a valued experience. (of course within reason) I know previous inFamous titles, and Prototype as well, probably didn't showcase every power in the reviews, but I don't believe they were explicitly disallowed. And I also believe inFamous 2 reviews DID show a few the boss battles.

extermin8or3692d ago

If the developer wants the game to be a surprise to the player then that's their choice. You should be able to review the core of the game without having to give out spoilers-if the developer says it's a spoiler they probably know best. Also if this is the case you don't review something lower just because you argued with the creator. That's wrong and VERY unprofessional. Also I'm playing second son atm and have been for some hours. I understand what he means by the slight lack of vareity in a way however also disagree, it doesn't feel repative in the same way that boarding ships in AC4 never really got too repetative and certainly was never boring. Plus the 2 different powers I have alone are mixing the gameplay up enough to make it feel fresh...

BattleTorn3692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

@extermin8or

See that's my point, before Second Sons the powers and boss battles, in infamous 1&2, weren't considered 'spoilers' - and to have them be now kinda infers there is less in the game in terms of what would previously be spoilers.

I see how one could argue that disallowing reviewers to 'spoil' such basic aspects of the game - in attempt to keep the remain a surprise - is unprofessional. (cause it undermines the reviewer, and his purpose)

Honestly, Sessler 'getting personal' with his work - as unprofessional as it may be - is what I like in good journalist!

S2Killinit3692d ago

why shouldn't the developer prevent reviewers from giving away the story?? its better for consumers not to know the whole story before they play a game which they can make their opinion about based on reviews. The reviewer would be doing everyone a disservice in telling them what will happen and giving away all surprises to get more clicks. Your comment doesn't compute with me. Besides, I believe the developer has a right to protect his property from a reviewer who may not be all too fair, especially if he is the type of person who might take things personal as you are suggesting Sassler had done.

Personally, I just think its a lot simpler than that. Sassler has been on MS's pay role for a long time. He might be afraid of giving any praise to MS's competition for fear of loosing MS's favor.

liquidhalos3691d ago

For somebody who has done his upmost to avoid all spoilers, leaked info and comment threads about this game in anticipation, i kind of appreciate that sony and/or sucker punch have prevented too much being given away in reviews. This way in theory i can safely read reviews without having the game surprises ruined. Why is it so hard to understand?

It should have been pretty obvious which way Adams review was going to swing! Especially after his glowing review of TitanFall! 5/5

Some just don't feel a need to hide their biases! Prime example.

Imalwaysright3692d ago

"Some just don't feel a need to hide their biases! Prime example"

I don't know if you're talking about Sessler or about yourself!

liquidhalos3691d ago

@Imalwaysright

"I don't know if you're talking about Sessler or about yourself!"

Really? if you don't know the answer to that your either thick or animate. Oh wait, sorry i see. You only have 3 bubbles, hrmmm, what does that say about you?

LexHazard793692d ago

What I dont understand is why are Sony fans mad about certain scores! If you have a good score "oh its great, this that" if you see low score "oh theyre bias, they gave Titanfall a better score so we knew they were gonna give it a low score"...

Its the same as if I go around saying all the better reviews of infamous are from Sony fanboys! When its neither..just like anything, some people think its not as good as others do! Play the game and f the reviews.

None of these reviews are gonna stop me from trying this game out! Its just weird review scores! You guys shouldnt take it personal!

stuna13692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

@Imalwaysright

You should be one to talk! Just to provide a little sembalance to your comment, have you ever went back and reread your own comments!?

@BakPAin

Although I agree with what your saying, I have to ask where have you been since the beginning of this gen? It's apparently obvious that Adam Sessler has a slanted view against Sony in general! All last gen his reviews were skewed against Sony in general, this gen he created a big stink about not receiving a free PlayStation, he was a major player behind the recording options available on the PS4 before launch, he also spoke on the issues of resolution and frame rates. The majority of his arguments have been heavily slanted against the PS4, this is nothing new!

When he hosted the show X-Play with Morgan Webb, he always talked down the PlayStation platform, while Morgan Webb was alway there trying to soften the blow that Adam consistently dished out. You know what changed since then as far as Sony/PlayStation!? Nothing.

Yet we have those here saying that he doesn't deserve criticism, give me a break!

Why o why3692d ago (Edited 3692d ago )

Can I add that sessler was ALL ABOUT 1080p 60fps prior to gen start then when the x1 was found not to be as capable you controlled the damage saying it isnt that important anymore.

He's entitled to his opinion as I am of his. I dub him 'well spoken cheerleader of the opposition'.... lol, but seriously we cannot expect the same factions to just relinquish thier bias just because a new gen has arrived. The western media still have a champion to champion. Kinda like home team advantage. I understand that fully

Christopher3692d ago

@BakPAin:

1. Yeah, but let's not paint this as a "Sony fan" thing only. All fanboys do this. Last generation MS fans were all about the pixel counting. Now, not so much. Last generation, Sony fans were all about "quality content" over pixel counting. Now, not so much.

2. Sometimes, there is an actual bias there. Is it Sessler? It's hard for me to tell. I do believe the desire for his business to be as profitable and to do exactly what HE wants with it is creating some bias since he doesn't believe Sony is supporting his business goals. I do believe he's being extremely obtuse and petty in that regard instead of making it work. He's putting all the blame on Sony when what he should be doing is making it work the best he can for his viewers.

LordDhampire3692d ago

Come on dude says adam sessler isn't biased is like saying the sky isn't blue after him and sony got in to it last year

And I haven't played infamous SS but I have titanfall and it is not a 9/10 game it is a 8.5 and I would round down before round up if your on a whole point system. The game is really fun but lacking tons of content, basic thinga like character customization, more funs, mech colors or customization. Come on if 7 is good and 8 is above average whyare we giving a game without basic things its competitors have and it doesn't even have a singleplayer or bots. Rediculous/settling for less, for $40 I wouldn't be complaining but for 60 come on being fun does not justify a great game that is a 7-8, the content is and how its implemented pushes it to the great amazing catagory

Yodagamer3692d ago

Titanfall has a higher meta critic than infamous so far with an equal amount of reviews and a 60 score as well. Does this then make the other infamous reviews are invalid if they're lower and if they're invalid what is the true metacritic score! The conspiracies! http://cdn8.keeptalkinggree...

How Does inFAMOUS Second Son Hold up 10 Years Later?

inFAMOUS Second Son was one of PS4's best exclusives, but does it hold up a decade later?

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM107d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck107d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati106d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos107d ago (Edited 107d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion
