is it me or does this remind anyone of Naruto? lol

9 tailed beast naruto being the 9th... Mighty #9, thiers 9 of them Beck is also the last lol...

hmmmm

im starting to think their will be a 10th one like naruto

zeuanimals3697d ago (Edited 3697d ago )

Not sure if they're taking a book out of Naruto at all. You are playing the 9th member, but I think it has more to do with Mega Man's set up than Naruto. Mega Man had 8 main stage bosses to fight in every main entry in the series and Mighty No. 9 has 8 Mighty members you have to fight.

The name probably indicates that there won't be a sequel, though. Who's he gonna fight after beating the other Mighty Numbers? The Mighty Letters? The Mighty Math Problems? Maybe they'll find a way.

Clogmaster3696d ago

Rockman - Roku-man - Roku = 6 in Japanese, upsidedown it's a 9? I have no idea.

They could have called him KyuMan

XisThatKid3696d ago (Edited 3696d ago )

Naruto is based off of various diff Japanese and Chinese mythology even most of the characters names are mix and matches and especially most of the scheme of tailed beasts except some of the beasts are different animals or creatures.
Mighty No.9 draws its inspiration from its creators previous creation made nearly 30+ years ago Mega Man that has the base of having one robot or andriod massacre another 8 or so bots reprogramed or created by a rival scientist of Mega Mans scientist Dr Light, named Dr. Wily.
I think the 9 is the only common ground and I think is a mere coincidence and if wasn't, would be based more on the actual mythology not the later mostly badly written popular anime/manga.

Hope this sheds some light on the subject.

looks great! like the graphics and art style too. glad this game was funded.

Rodney253697d ago

I helped fund this. Donated $250 I'm glad to see progress!

Please stop saying a game looks indie. You sound quite ignorant When you are dismissive Of something you don't understand. First of a indie studio or independent Studio just means that the money that finances The game does not come from a publisher . It has nothing to do with graphics or size of the development team. CD projekt red is a independent studio. And the wither 3 had some of the best graphics in all of gaming. The forest is a game by a indie studio it has amazing graphics. Please stop saying things you don't understand you make a fool of yourself.

The only game I have ever backed on kickstarter!!

Can't wait to play this classic style of game. Also think the TV show might be cool too when that eventually comes out.

EDIT: That 'hidden power' that Beck has, it is TOTALLY the ability to transform into any of the Mighty robots that he defeats. I mean, they ARE trying to take down Megaman with this so..... Also, why have the "No 9" next to his health bar? Unless it shows up to tell you which Mighty robot you are.

Athlon3697d ago

I'm loving this version of "Mega Man!" It has the same style of music and bosses from the Mega Man we're used to which I like. It looks like they combined Mega Man and the Mega Man X series and improved on it.

Lol, I literally said that out loud when clicking on this article.

Only tried the demos for both and mighty 9 looked atrocious. Megaman 11 was fun and polished. Never played both full versions but will see it they are on PS Extra when i get home.

Mostly get my megaman fix playing the azure gunvolt games and spin offs. And Maverick Hunter X on my Vita.

VersusDMC637d ago

Just tried Mighty No 9 again on PSExtra...graphics are atrocious and taking down enemies by dashing into them feels so hollow.

Kickstarter's Gaming Successes Prove Big Gaming Doesn't Know What Fans Want

Kickstarter has allowed game developers all over the world to bring their respective visions to life, while AAA Studios remains out of touch.

TheEnigma3131519d ago

This is very true. Companies like EA, UBI, MS seem to be disconnected from what fans want.

Um I’m not too sure about that check how well those games sold besides the money they got from Kickstarter they didn’t sell nearly as much as most games from publishers (AAA or not).

The unfortunate reality is these days games like Shenmue 3 and Bloodstained are incredibly niche and the only way it could survive is by use of a fan funded website like Kickstarter.

No Man's Sky had the most disappointing launch after the massive hype.

It also had the best turn around of any game.

Today it is basically a mammoth sandbox/city builder/space sim/casual podcast in the background meditative play. Love it right now.

smolinsk1526d ago (Edited 1526d ago )

But you jumped on the hype train without seeing what the game really came with.

Sean Murry absolutely caught up in the hype and talk about future stuff that wasen't there from the start.

But what i was promised before the game came out was an unlimited univers and everybody else was looking forward to just that and nothing else. So he gave us just that..that people could not see the true picture about an Early access kind of game was delusional, it was so clear it was not ready...

akaFullMetal1526d ago

CD3, and ff15, maybe shemue 3, I feel are more recent disappoinments than Duke nukem and perfect dark.

Anthem was predicted to be a failure from its beginning especially since the last game Bioware put out was the abomination called Andromeda.
