This guy is one of the most retarded dudes I've ever seen to give so called "advice" by letting one of your most beloved and hardcore franchises go multiplat

SeanDKnight3707d ago

Am I? Considering that Nintendo doesn't really seem to care too much about the franchise, what is wrong with my advice? When Metroid's 25th anniversary came around Nintendo didn't even acknowledge it. Yet Kirby got a special celebration.

So if Nintendo doesn't want to do right by the character, why shouldn't someone else?

BlackWolf3707d ago (Edited 3707d ago )

Yeah, they should just give out theix EXCLUSIVE frnachise to everybody else.. what a flawless logic /s.

Come on dude, you're just stretching things out to claim Metroid should go 3rd party. Metroid has been shunned somewhat, I agree with that, but it's Nintendo's franchise. They have no reason to give it to anyone else.

Do you want God of War on Xbox, Halo on Nintendo, or anything that sounds just as stupid? I'm sure you don't. So, please, don't "ask" for this... it's not gonna happen.

Benjaminkno3707d ago

Actually Nintendo claimed MP3 to be "THE GREATEST FIRST PERSON EXPERIENCE EVER!!!" And no-one really took it seriously.

In terms of an individual offline experience, I partly agree. On a purely action oriented perspective, gameplay and control is still advanced. The visuals closely resemble a game on 360.
That game is going down as one of the most brutally underrated game of the last generation.

Why ruin a franchise by emphasizing blood and gore for the sake of "appeal", when Metroid has always been about action?

They did give it to someone else, and Retro did wonders.

wonderfulmonkeyman3707d ago (Edited 3707d ago )

Yes, Dean.
You are.
It's idiotic of anyone to suggest that a first party franchise like Metroid should go third party when there is literally no danger of the parent company going third party themselves.
It would be like telling Sony that they should sell off InFamous to Nintendo to help cover some of their bank-rocking debt, because they've only done three games of it so far and thus aren't paying it enough attention by celebrating the anniversary of the first game, if we're going by your standards.

Or should I go into other first-party franchises that you seem to be gleefully ignoring from the others, as well? Fable, for instance?
Or how about some of those third party exclusives for the other machines? Should they go multiplat because they're not being pumped out at the same rate as Angry Birds while having their anniversaries celebrated, or something?

No. They should not, and neither should Metroid.

Nintendo cares plenty about the Metroid franchise.

They still plan to use it, it will continue to live on, and you're making a poor suggestion that doesn't even merit being called advice by saying it should go to someone else just so you can get the next game quicker.
It's stupid, also, to think that anyone other than either Nintendo or someone Nintendo guides and appoints could possibly do the Metroid franchise justice.
Many have tried and failed to reproduce the charm of many of Nintendo's series.
Nintendo will do right by the series with Metroid U and Metroid 3DS.
Just because it's not coming out fast enough for your liking while celebrating every milestone the series has had, doesn't mean Nintendo doesn't know what to do with the series, so please, just stop suggesting stupid things while you've got the chance.

To say that Nintendo doesn't care about the franchise is a disservice.

The Gamecube got 2 Metroid Prime entries.

The Wii got Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Metroid: Other M, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy collection, which came in a deluxe presentation that Nintendo didn't make for any other of their franchises.

So, they kept supporting the Metroid franchise despite the fact that it doesn't get Nintendo anywhere near the same amount of profit as their bigger hits: Mario Kart, Smash Bros, New Super Mario, etc.

I don't think Wii U will be any different. I expect that console to get at least one Metroid game, which I'm sure will be awesome.

Want to talk about abandoned Nintendo franchises? Look at Star Fox and F-Zero.

iplay1up23707d ago

Metroid should go 3rd party? Yeah Nintendo that is how you sell YOUR system. Last gen graphics, uh no. Corruption to this day does not look bad, and could easily be compared to many PS360 games, and the Wii had how much power compared to those two systems?

The Wii U has more power than PS360, that argument was put to rest over a year ago. I am not saying its a PS4, no it is not, BUT with the added power of Wii U over PS360, Retro would be able to push the Wii U and I bet we would see the Wii U pull off things only THEY could imagine.

I think Nintendo should make a new 1st person Metroid game and show us what they can do, and keep the game Nintendo ONLY, to sell their systems.

A new system in two years is NOT going to happen, it will be at least 3-4. So that is just hot air. I am not even going to go into the 100's of reasons why, Or the millions of Wii U owners reasons why.

"when Metroid has always been about action?
"

Exploration*

Yes it has action but it emphasized a lot on isolation and exploring uncharted maps.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3706d ago

maybe you are. You do realize Metroid was born same year as Zelda. So it would been overshadowed by Zelda.

Not to mention Other M reception.

Probably not, considering Nintendo doesn't like to live on the same plane of existence as everyone else. :)

Neonridr3707d ago

lol, very true. They do kind of reside somewhere out in the Twilight Zone.

I am sure the next Metroid game on the Wii U will look fantastic. I just hope they get around to it sooner or later.

Geekman3706d ago

I'm worried about your drinking habits. May I direct you to Dr. Waltler? She's great with kids.

Activemessiah3707d ago

You might as well say Sony needs to release The Last of Us on the Wii U for it to be saved... yes THAT'S how ridiculous that article sounds. They would rather perish than let that happen.

Benjaminkno3707d ago (Edited 3707d ago )

Yeah, they already made that trilogy... it's called Dead Space.
Most of that franchise was good, but I felt greater potential for the series.

I'd like to see Samus go third person. The gamepad with Metroid is a no-brainer.
No need for mature, Metroid has always been about action and suspense.

Apex133707d ago

Errrr, Save Nintendo from what? Are they going bankrupt or out of the industry....NOOOOOoooooo so why such stupid articles?

Metroid Prime's Scanner Is The Original Detective Mode

Metroid Prime is a detective game at heart, and the Scan Visor is Samus' trusty magnifying glass.

Wouldn't the X-ray Scanner in Super Metroid be the original detective mode?

bunt-custardly483d ago

Nioh games definitely up there at the top alongside Ninja Gaiden BLK.

LoveSpuds483d ago

There is a decent fan base for the Nioh games, but still think they are criminally overlooked and under appreciated.

I just bought the PS5 collection to replay them again with all their DLC, a sweet collection for my games shelf for sure.

deleted483d ago

Yea, those gardens haven't been plowed in over 10 years now though. Imagine if they cultivated it, let it grow again.

Starman69483d ago

Amazing what ya can do with a samurai sword lol 🤣

tehpees3483d ago

The honourable mention though.

TheSenorCheese483d ago

originally it wasn't going to be included because of their take on Samus' character. But the gameplay's actually not bad.

Vits483d ago

Honestly, I don't know if we can even blame them for that take. Nintendo's Sakamoto was credited as the writer and from what we learned later with the Retro Studios interviews for the Prime series, Nintendo apparently never saw Samus as this stoic badass that most of the west imagined her as. Going as far as describing her as "motherly".

shinoff2183483d ago

Ninja Gaiden was dope but I don't really care for alot of their games.

I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I bought this for my GameCube! My best friend and I ordered pizza for delivery, it was snowing outside and we stayed in all weekend playing it. Still one of my all time favorite games and I really hope the Switch ports being rumored is true. Fantastic game, one for the ages🙂
