No one could do it like Starbreeze . . The Darkness is so good. I was captivated from start to finish. It was a one time experience. I went in with low expectations. Turned out to be one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

I cannot say the same about the Darkness 2.

JohnathanACE3726d ago

Yep the first Darkness was one of the most underrated games of the last generation. Hopefully the third one will be a lot more like the first.

Yui_Suzumiya3726d ago

Got them feels going at the end. Made the whole thing worth it.

Gotta agree with you on this. I am a huge fan of the comic, but also went in with the understanding that the translation to video game might suffer. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It captured the essence of Jackie and The Darkness, while also managing to be entertaining in the same ways as the comic. The Darkness 2, not so much. Now, any chance we could dig up that old "Wanted" game and give it a non-movie treatment? There were some GREAT game mechanics that suffered because it was so closely tied to the movie.

Ohhh The Darkness... Absolute gem. Great gameplay, amazing graphics (for the release year), best voice acting in years... And a hell of game-based-on-comics... The Darkness II was amazing, but it was not like the first. Well, the voice acting was amazing and the graphics was gorgeous, that comic feel was there all the time.

Sounds like a remaster of The Darkness game may be in the works

The CEO of Nightdive Studios has said in a tweet that the game is currently on the list for a modern update.

isarai277d ago

Oh I'm sold already, Nightdive does really solid remasters, and to this day I still love the darkness

Leeroyw277d ago

Mike Patton of Faith No More did the voice too. It was such a great game.

Quetzll277d ago

Had no idea and i absolutely love FNM and Patton. Gonna go back and play this game.

Snookies12277d ago

The Darkness was awesome! Here's hoping a remaster might lead to a new game!

RaidenBlack277d ago

Darkness 1 is coming to PC! .... OMG!

isarai277d ago

That honestly might be the biggest W here. Darkness with RTX would be neat to see

Excellent news. The Darkness is one of my all-time favorite games and the sequel is great too. I've just recently had a great time replaying them on my PS3. Unfortunately it's kinda hard to recommend them these days, because they're stuck on PS3 and 360 so a remaster would certainly be appreciated. Nightdive has been killing it lately.

DefenderOfDoom2277d ago

Awesome, I loved The Darkness made by Starbreeze who a lot them are now developers at Machine Games . Yes , again thank you Nightdive !

Dagexon276d ago

Now I'm hoping they remaster more of starbreeze's games. Namely the chronicles of riddick games

DefenderOfDoom2276d ago

Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay , is one my favorite gaming experience I ever had . Great game .!

ModsDoBetter277d ago

Excellent games.
Recently ran through The Darkness 2 on PS3 again.

I hated the switch in style when it first came out but they're both amazing games.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad630d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g630d ago (Edited 630d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

gurp30d ago

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games
