The first of Tomonobu Itagaki’s Ninja Gaiden games was defined by its counterattack. Activated by blocking and then pressing an attack button the moment an enemy blow connected, it powered a game that required careful play and insisted you respect your opponent, punishing mistakes severely. In the process, it set a new high bar for its genre. Ninja Gaiden’s been going downhill ever since, and it says much about how inexorably bound this series is to the law of diminishing returns that its latest entry’s defining mechanic asks for no timing, precision or respect for your opponent. Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is built on the QTE.
KOEI Tecmo Recently filed a trademark application for the poorly reviewed Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.
Wow! I seriously loved the first one. Don't know why it was reviewed poorly, it was fun as hell and the humor was great.
I seriously hope they make a sequel in the same style as the first.
Finally got around to playing this one this year. I understand why it got bashed in the reviews but I still enjoyed it as a whole. The combat combos were solid and the traversal prompts looked sweet.
Twinfinite Writes: Koei Tecmo's Nioh shares a lot in common with both Ninja Gaiden and Dark Souls. Could the new title be the future for Team Ninja's flagship series?
Nioh is the Beginning of the Nioh Franchise, the latest amazing Playstation exclusive
Team Ninja creative director discusses the whereabouts of the iconic action franchise, says Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z "wasn't the right move" for the series.
I am a die hard fan but ninja gaiden 3 sucked so make it more like 1 and 2 or not at all.
They should have known better than to make Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. That didn't look or feel like a Ninja Gaiden game at all. They need to make another one like Ninja Gaiden Sigma that came out on PS3. That was good.
or why don't you redeem yourself and make a seriously good ninja gaiden game instead of making fans wait.
Ninja gaiden... loved that game and remember those great moment on the Xbox.. I'm not much of a fan of remasters but I would buy a pro or Scorpio remaster of ninja gaiden day one...
Ouch...
I was actually looking forward to this game. =(
Im calling it.... GOTY lol.
Edit: Was hoping this game was good but without the counterattacks, that just doesn't sound like a ninja gaiden game.
Well damn.....!! It's that bad?! Can someone whoever has this game comment, please?!
I don't get it what is wrong with the general consensus saying qte's are bad, it's just a different format of game play. The walking dead games are reverred yet it is mostly qte's as well. So yeah I don't get this hatred towards that style of gameplay.
Also this is a ninja Gaiden game so of course the camera is gonna be crazy, after how many games they still have yet to fix it, it should be a non issue really :p.
