It seems the next game in the legendary franchise, Guitar Hero, will take a step towards the Rock Band style of playing, but it also seems they are taking it a step further than what Harmonix had done. There will be the ability to create and play your own songs and there will be the ability to create and customize your own character and this time around you will also be able to create your own guitar. You can look at these amazing pictures from the latest GameInformer magazine on www.psnathome.com
Sometimes, gaming soundtracks can introduce players to bands and artists they've never heard of. This article is all about Matt's five favorites, thanks for gaming.
Accompanied by Heidi Klum, Mr T, Robin Williams, and Jerry (who's suddenly a chicken), Dan takes a look at his favourite video gaming adverts of all time.
Unreality Mag writes: "It’s always fun to see something out of the ordinary when you’re playing a video game. Most times it comes in the forms of funny songs or a game glitch you didn’t expect. And sometimes the game will toss in a celebrity which might throw you off (meaning a good thing).
But here I wanted to focus on celebrities who appeared in games that weren’t so obvious. Games that didn’t really have a celebrity focus yet a celebrity appeared in that seemed almost random.
Here are 10 that I enjoyed the most."
This lt fails for not having Burt F*cken Reynolds from Saints Row the Third
Unless I am blind and didn't see him
I can't hear the same tunes on both, and I have to buy both to enjoy all the tunes I like.
Rock Band > GHIII anyway, that's why GH4 is adding two extra pieces for the battery. Couldn't they have just thought about something more innovative?
"There will be the ability to create and play your own songs"
This is what I've been waiting for! Hopefully there will be some high-quality customizable drum kits and sounds you can use.
They need to make all these intstrument "controllers" universally compatible to their particular console for all these rhythm games (if not total univerality). Doesn't look like they will cuz the RB drums have the bass pedal ORANGE but the GH4 has the right-side "cymbal" colored ORANGE.
That's great they're giving players the tools to make their own songs but that doesn't catch my interest as it sounds closer to homework rather than fun to me ...but that's totally IMHO and I'd expect people to be pretty stoked for that. I wonder just how intricate the music you make can/will be.
So IF I buy GH4, I'll buy it used w/o peripherals...especially since GH3 was very disappointing for me.
Ugh... I was an early, rabid GH fan - after GH2 everything has been downhill. GH4 looks to be more of the same. They should be trying to set themselves apart from Rock Band not playing catch up. They should be revamping the guitar controller to make the game more compelling not making incompatible knockoff controllers for a game everyone already has.
Create a song is an interesting ploy for the hardcore crowd, but it will fall flat with the mainstream. Am I really going to give a crap about some random instrumentals made by whomever? Probably not. It would actually be cool if you could program real songs and share them with the community - if they had a radio-like royalty structure, but that would be too much hard work. They just want to say "hey we've got the same stuff as Rock Band and more!" and cash in.
Thanks for ruining a great franchise Activision.
Too early to tell if it's going to be worth it, I'll wait and see.
