Final Round 17 Reveals the Fifth Character for Ultra Street Fighter IV

Just moments ago at Final Round 17, Capcom finally announced Decapre is the long speculated fifth character for Ultra Street Fighter IV. Her addition to the cast finally puts an end to six months of speculation... until the inevitable PS4 version of course.

And no one was surprised Capcom went with the simplest and laziest option around. Hopefully she is at least some combo of the two characters with new moves, instead of just being a reskin.

I watched the whole Final Round. Trust me she's completely different than Cammy and she's a charge character.

i wouldn't say she's completely different than Cammy. first of all, she's just a re-skin visually. second, her fighting stance and normal moves practically mirror Cammy's. she also has a move that is very similar to Cammy's Spiral Arrow special attack.

i do agree that some of her special attacks, ultras, and the fact that she's a charge character give her a unique approach. but she's definitely not built from the ground up to be an original character.

since when did they said that the 5th is a ground up character? it is only known that it's a character that is existing in the SF universe.

Design-wise, this is just extremely lazy, and quite frankly, just really disappointing.

And if you're gonna do a new move-set and playing-style, then just put in the trouble to not make her visual design a complete clone of an existing character, but come up with someone new and interesting.

I didn't really care for the other 4 announced characters either, so I'll just stick with Arcade Edition.

She has a ground pound that can hit from the front or back, a teleport, a rekka, a dhalsim-like ultra, an air drill and a few chain combos. Being a Cammy player myself I can tell you she is VERY different from Cammy. Also the fact that she's a charge character.

Yeah, I see that now that a trailer has been released. Glad to see she is different and happy to see they didn't phone it in.

Shame that she still has the same normals and walking animation of cammy. I just dont get why they didn't just use one of the 11 other dolls that dont look exactly like cammy instead. I mean at least change the hair or something.

Well they already stated they were on a budget for this update so I understand them cutting corners. But really in an anime style game every character has the same face anyway they just have to change hair, eye and skin color and call it another character. They probably could of just reached out to the modding community who have basically already done this with cammy.

that aside her moveset is different enough to be classed as new, too bad she looks like an alternate cammy costume.

They probably chose Decapre specifically for the mask... that way they didn't have to do any facial animation. Personally I was expecting them to take Christie's Street Fighter x Tekken Bison Doll costume and make Santamu... but I guess that was too much work.

They didn't have the resources to make new characters. That's why the other ones are straight from StreetfighterXTekken. Capcom is not doing very well financially.

You see, I was a bit hyped for this game, but this 5th character.....is Ono serious about this or was he just.....messing with us from the very beginning? Very bad joke. They simply vega'd Cammy and voila there's your 5th character.

Cammy is already the most hated char in AE (well maybe tied with Sakura)... so naturally make the character even cheaper! Oh... and give her annoying beeping sound effects while she does her moves.... THANKS CAPCOM!

i don t know but the footage from the trailer looks not on ps3 or 360 looks a little bit next gen to me doesn t use the same shaders and its super fluid any way i will pass ... i was stupid enough to buy the game twice

You know you can upgrade for only $15, right? $15 for 5 characters, some new modes and rebalancing patch isn't bad, even if the characters are widely believed to be lazy.
