Now that's a lot of damage!

Knushwood Butt543d ago

I can't even understand a lot of what the characters are saying. Are they high?

Name Last Name542d ago

I don’t understand what’s wrong with them. Seems like an AI reading lines and stuttering at the same time.

KillBill542d ago

Basically people that can't act given direction to make something up on the spot. Kind of exactly the feeling of metaverse as a whole.

Deathdeliverer543d ago

Couldn’t sit through all that. We really need to find a way to separate gamers from meta folks. The average Joe would believe they are all just gamers. I cannot be lumped together with people that engage in this foolery.

Kerppamaister543d ago

TF is this? No, wait. In fact, this is the best publicity for Metaverse. Tell people this is what they can expect. That'll get people buying headset in a second.

that's a nice change. Keep things like that optional for those who wish to utilize it.

lodossrage677d ago

It should have never been mandatory to start with.

They're only doing this because their "metaverse" is desperately in need of people to use it. If they somehow manage to get enough people on board, they'll make it mandatory again. You can quote me on that one.

Neonridr677d ago

I doubt the Quest ecosystem is struggling. Sales are very good for those systems.

lodossrage677d ago

The quest and the metaverse are two different things. Nobody said quest was struggling. I said the metaverse is.

With the quests current sales numbers they are still getting little to no interest in their metaverse. Them cutting the facebook mandatory barrier is literally them trying desperately to get players into that failing, nft rife virtual world they're trying to push so hard

Neonridr677d ago (Edited 677d ago )

I think they were banking on VR having more social integration outside of just games but that didn't seem to happen. People are happy to play games in VR or watch movies. People don't want to shop or conduct meetings and stuff in VR like they originally planned for.

porkChop676d ago

Until VR becomes essentially a pair of sunglasses the general public won't touch it. Especially for anything outside of gaming. It's far too goofy looking for professional environments.

kryteris676d ago

metaverse is a key word like the cloud, a handful of apps not one particular experience. its not failing.

You need a Meta account now instead, I saw the email. Can't believe anyone trusted this company.

traqueia676d ago

Well... yes?
You need an account to keep the games you buy

CrimsonWing69676d ago (Edited 676d ago )

Guess what else you need an account for, Nintendo, Xbox, Switch, Steam, Epic, and every other freaking service.

How the hell do they get a pass?

frostypants675d ago (Edited 675d ago )

@CrimsonWing69 because unlike Facebook/Meta they don't have a reputation for monetizing your data and selling it to third parties (and then lying about it).

masterfox677d ago

finally might consider getting one.

shadowT676d ago

great change, I hope it will stay optional

MadLad676d ago

Oh.
You mean after you put the need in place; making sure you tied in the majority before going "lol just kidding" ?
