GamePlasma Reviews V.I.P. Blackjack Casino

Peter Skerritt, from GamePlasma, writes: "It comes as a bit of a surprise that Poker wasn't the first installment of the V.I.P. Casino series, but Blackjack plays a credible version of the casino classic. It's not the best blackjack game out there, but card games aren't exactly a dime a dozen on the Wii platform, so it's a start."

NGamer: VIP Casino Blackjack Review

How's about this: keep the 700 points, and buy 42 All-Time Classics on DS instead. You'll get blackjack with 41 other games to boot. VIP? Oh, it's VIP all right. A Very Ignorant Purchase. By the way, NGamer should also warn you that this has a 'Teen' rating for 'simulated gambling'. Well, duh.

You'll love:
- A game anyone can play
- "Immersive" camera
- It's cheap

You'll hate:
- It's not cheap enough
- It's blackjack, but without the money
- An achievment for playing 2 hours?

V.I.P. Casino: Blackjack (WiiWare) review

Is the gamble worth it? That would be a rather valid question when looking at what this game has to offer for the 700 points you'll be paying for it. As you can tell from the title alone, the only game featured here is the well-known Blackjack and in that respect it may seem a bit bare-bones. As with most games, it all depends on what you expect to get out of it.

The setting couldn't be simpler: The whole game takes place within a VIP casino lounge with a dealer calling the shots, while you play with up to four AI characters or three friends. The goal is to rake in the most cash until you had your fill - or go bust. One problem this may present is that Blackjack technically has no end, especially when considering that your re-buy option can be used over and over again without any negative effect on the player.

GameTap - WiiWare: Downloadable Games for the Wii Arrive

GameTap writes: "What price tag do you put on fun? With WiiWare, Nintendo can now offer Wii games that fit just any budget, from $5 to $50. The WiiWare store is open for business at the Wii Shop Channel, and through it, Nintendo hopes to make available games that are low cost, imaginative, and hopefully fun.

Nintendo is promoting WiiWare as a way for smaller, independent developers to showcase their talents and create entertaining Wii content without incurring the development and marketing costs associated with releasing a video game into regular retail channels. Expect to experience the creative efforts of development companies of all stripes. Established video game publishers (some even presenting games based on their popular franchises) will have WiiWare offerings as well as smaller independent studios. The independents are the most intriguing aspect of WiiWare. As with Microsoft's Xbox Live marketplace, WiiWare can give unique and creative ideas a chance to find an audience and flourish in a smaller format but on a major video game platform."
