The East European Imperial Alliance is waging war on the Atlantic Federation. Caught in the middle are the people of Gallia, the downtrodden Switzerland of this fictional world. It's a setting that blends the conflict of World War II-period Europe with some more fantastic Japanese anime sensibilities. A unique tactical combat system and the beautifully implemented "CANVAS" engine make this one of the more exciting titles coming from Sega, and one that should be on every PS3-owning strategy fan's radar.

While the Valkyria Chronicles franchise has been somewhat dormant for four years, it certainly hasn't been forgotten.
Sega is great for relegating its characters to cameos in other games. Heaven forbid they announced Valkyria Chronicles 5 or remaster VC 2 & 3.
