VideoGamer: "Rumour has it that Mass Effect is coming to next-gen at some point, sending people into a frenzy. With that in mind, here's why that should happen, and 9 other games that should follow suit.

Meh, aside from GTA5 we need new games, no need for cheap remasters.

SamPao3708d ago

Yeah, this list isn't exactly what I was expecting :P
Crysis?... Dahell :D
I would love to play theLastOfUs Multiplayer on ps4 and Gow: Ascension in full HD Multiplayer MAYHEM!
That would be awesome

I don't know, I laughed when I read "gearbox might actually get it right this time."

We've all been waiting for the right alien game... maybe they should hire the team behind natural selection.

diehardmetallicafan3708d ago

i wouldnt be interested in any of em, except maybe the witcher 2 because ive never played it

All these games are great just the way they are.

The only game that deserves to be ported or "remastered" or updated for the PS4 is the Last Guardian which is probably already happened.

Prime1573708d ago (Edited 3708d ago )

I don't know, remastering games allows a new generation of "kids" (aka) gamers a reason to experience games... I honestly don't mind ports simply because the younger crowd has a better chance of trying it out.

Seriously, how many 15 to 20 year olds (yes, even with mature rating) will understand games like golden eye and truly appreciate halo 1? So many great games that built gaming as we see it, the younger crowd deserves that chance.

Gaming experiences have a greater chance of being played as a port... legends won't die...

BladerunnerZX3708d ago

Good point.

I was mostly pointing to last gen games that still look and play great.

wtopez3708d ago (Edited 3708d ago )

You can already play all those games (minus GTA5, at least not yet) in 1080p+ and 60 FPS on a mid range gaming PC. Even Aliens CM got a pretty big patch that improves the game considerably. It still sucks but just a little less.

Yep just max out those games on a good PC and/or use mods. Silly article really.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast23d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22923d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko23d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
