Oh I trust this article for once, it's Double Helix we're talking about here. Any dev that can make a 1-on-1 fighter 720p on 8th-gen hardward can be FULLY expected to screw up a multiplat on a more powerful variation.

It doesn't. It's a simple switch that any PC game can do with a simple flag enabled (your graphics card can even force this for older games that don't have it). Either it was an intentional gimp, or a simple mistake, but it's a very low-cost feature that every console has been able to do since the dreamcast days.

Look at the floor you can see that on the PS4 version the ground patterns appear to disappear/get blurry the further you look compared to the PC and XB1 versions.

It's always funny to see someone scared of "the cloud". Cloud compute is very real, using it for a game console is where the problem is. The issue isn't getting it to work, the issue is developing a game that uses cloud compute, but can also works offline. If Microsoft is able to get cloud compute working this generation you will see a connected review showing the enhanced graphics and an unconnected review showing what the game can do offline. Cloud compute is in it's infancy for this application. We may never see the benefits or we may see it actually work as planned. Dismissing the possibility at launch is immature at best. The equivilant would be saying PSNow was a lie since it was no where to be found at launch. Both consoles will get more features and better graphics with time.

Strider probably doesn't even have any form of PS4 optimization. All that is, is DX code run through Sony's shader compiler. And voila, there we have a 2D action game from the 80s ported to next gen consoles.

The game is obviously demanding enough to be 720p at 30 fps on both the 360 and PS3, so there's a factor to be considered there. This shows that the X1 is clearly capable of 1080p/60 fps on a game that was 720/30 for last gen platforms.

There is another factor to consider here, I suppose. This is Double Helix's 2nd X1 game, not the first. I'm still baffled how CoD:G didn't make 1080p/60 on the X1, although I think I can understand why BF4, a much higher fidelity game, didn't. At this point calling the CoD:G devs 'lazy' might still be inaccurate, but calling the X1 version of CoD:Ghosts "rushed" might be pretty spot on.

Are you seriously comparing Strider with COD:G, i know COD is a average game to play, but it is hardly a slouch in the graphics department, it absolutely trounces Strider in the graphics department.

This type of game should be running at 1080p on PS4 & X1, it is the more demanding games that the X1 cant handle at 1080p.
