Hopefully this trend continues and console games can be preloaded that would be a nice step forward.

user95970823738d ago

Amen to that.
Especially when games like Ghosts (despite looking nearly identical to 360 version) take up 40 gigs.

famoussasjohn3738d ago

I have no idea why or how Ghosts is 40GB's lol. But thankfully Titanfall is 15.8GB in total so the install time or download time won't be as bad as what Ghosts would have.

user95970823738d ago

I think they just added in a bunch of dead weight to beef the filesize up and make it appear to be more next gen than it is.
The only visual difference between the generations is a higher framerate.

OrangePowerz3738d ago

It's a very useful feature. I used it for GTA5 so I could play it directly at midnight without the need to go out. Obviously I constantly use it on steam as well.

lolCHILLbro3738d ago

i geuss alot of noobs are going to cry knowing every single achievement is a multiplayer achievement lol

JeffGUNZ3738d ago

MS announced you can preload and it's like 15.8 GB

0 Gamerscore for reaching 10th generation way to reward the players !

gjruk3738d ago

It's better this way in my opinion, but you're always gonna have two sides to the argument, those who want to complete the game but not invest every day into the game and those like you, who think it ain't rewarding individuals, so you can't win?

greenyboi3738d ago

I do agree with you it will be personally rewarding to reach tenth max level !! But usually they leave the big Gamerscore reward for the end ! But then people might just get the game to blast few the campaign and who knows what level you might reach after that and then not bother to go to max level in which case they are not missing out on big gamerscore

Slothnut3738d ago

reward could be something even better than points

DevilishSix3737d ago (Edited 3737d ago )

Green is right on this one. The game only has 35 achievos. They easily could have granted an achievement for each Prestige or at least one nice size achievo for reaching level 10, it would promote replayability for those achievement hunters that might be getting tired of the game but want to complete all those achievements. Achievements have always been a good way to extend gameplay, Respawn should have taken advantage of that, especially since its MP only.

Capture the Flag mode inclusion makes me a happy pilot.

drsfinest723738d ago

I Killed Them All 25 Kill all pilots during the evacuation single-handedly

holy shit how the hell are we supposed to kill every pilot single handedly during evac? thats intense

greenyboi3738d ago

Maybe if you get in a full squad let all the pilots board the ship and take turns getting the final shot to blow up the ship they evacuate on !! Just a idea

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad616d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g615d ago (Edited 615d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad896d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal895d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
