Wow would you look at that. I'm not making any accusations but it seems pretty coincidental.

ZodTheRipper3727d ago

Well it's their own fault, the later such games come to PS4 the lower my interest for them becomes. Now is the perfect chance for success as there isn't that much competition in the PSN store, I probably would have bought it right now but I don't know whether I'll buy it in 2 months.

TruthInsider 3727d ago

I don't get it?

I thought games were much easier & faster to make this gen because of x86 architecture, so why is a small indie game thats already out on PC not a simple task of porting it over to PS4?
I mean, nothing has to be changed, i'm pretty sure the PS4 can handle it!

If it coincidentally happens to come out on Xbone at the same time i am gonna be even more pissed at MS and its unfair, dirty, anti gamer parity clauses!

dumahim3727d ago

I'm guessing it'll be the PS4 PS+ game for April.
I suspect War Thunder will be March.

Rainstorm813727d ago

Isn't War thunder F2P.....I was hoping forSecret Ponchos in March....or maybe release Planetside 2

TheRedButterfly3727d ago

lol Care to explain how "dirty" and "unfair" [and "anti gamer"] Young Horses are for branching out to more platforms? Or do you simply want to scapegoat Microsoft again.

kgeisler3727d ago

I am one of the developers and the only person to be working on the PS4 version since we started it last April. At the same time, we have been working on finishing the game for its original platforms, PC/Mac/Linux. The game has never had solid release dates, since this is our first commercial game.

We are still aiming for being able to release March, but we do not know how long the TRC process takes, and the number of titles being released in March makes it seem more likely early April could be it.

Basically, we are finishing up TRC requirements, adding trophies, optimization, and also fixing some later levels based on reviews of the PC version. There is no Xbox One version even in development, but when people ask us, we are being honest in saying that it's possible we do it later.

@ kgeisler

You sure you guys just didn't get scared of launching in such a packed month? :P lol

No one would blame you, March has a lot of other highly anticipated titles releasing. A whimsical game like Octodad shouldn't get threaten by games outside that genre much.

Guess we'll just see what happens.

dumahim3727d ago

@Rainstorm81

Yeah, I think you're right. Forgot about that part.

im glad i bought it on pc now. didnt wanna wait!

otherZinc3727d ago

Oh No!

M$, stop this terrible game from coming to XBOX ONE!

kgeisler3727d ago

This is a case of us answering people on twitter honestly, and then someone making a news article for clickbait by trying to connect answers.

When we first started the PS4 version, we were targeting June 2014. We were hoping to get the Steam version released mid-January (for our Kickstarters). We felt late March was a better target for PS4 considering how much we were able to get done. Now that we are closer to March, it feels with other March release announcements, that releasing at the same time may not be a good idea. We are still finishing as if we were releasing in late March, but that would mean passing TRC requirements quickly, and with this being our first console game, it is not safe to guarantee March anymore.

There is currently no Xbox One version being developed, but we've said it before that we'd like to do other platforms in the future if we can, including Wii U, iOS, Android. We don't know if we have time or are technically capable yet.

The more the merrier. I can't wait for this game. I hope it is as insane as the first one

yazter3727d ago

Another PS4 game delayed.

Shocking.

yazter3727d ago

Why 14 disagrees? I'm a PS4 gamer and all the games I look forward to, PS3 or PS4 get delayed.

Watch_Dogs and Driveclub come to mind.

MASTER_RAIDEN3727d ago

Because saying "another ps4 game delayed" would imply that the ps4 specifically has trouble with delayed software. Its funny that you only give 2 examples of delayed software and of those 2, drive club is the only exclusive. Watchdogs got delayed on 6 different platforms.

Your post is a stealth-troll post and the disagrees speak for themselves.

TheRedButterfly3727d ago

Because N4G can't handle alternate opinions.

Kayant3727d ago

Does Sony control the decisions have said dev/game apart Driveclub. No. So hardly their fault.

Fishy Fingers3727d ago

Ah well, plenty to play in the meantime (at least from next month), but disappointing as ever if you were excited to play it.

Absolutely no reason it shouldn't appear on XB1.

ZodTheRipper3727d ago

I don't think anyone was "excited" to play this. Looks like a fun game but also like one I can live without.

Nicaragua3727d ago

I played this at a PS4 pre-launch event, its not that great TBH
