Twinfinite writes:

Titanfall is without a doubt an incredible game, but if the beta is any indicator, the game has at least one important flaw worth noting.

I play Hardpoint, objective based, so killing bots does nothing to the overall score of the game. I end up killing more pilots then bots anyway. All they do is take a whopping 5 seconds off my titan fall. Pilots are like 30 seconds. Bots are stupid yes, but at least they go to objectives and you can use them as bait.

bornsinner3757d ago (Edited 3757d ago )

i don't see many pilots when 3 of them are in mechs, leaves only 3 real players to kill.. seriously they need a high player count for it to be fun

mewhy323757d ago

I see lots of people complaining about the low resolution and that the frame rates drop in the 40's when in a titan? Really shouldn't this game be running at 60fps at this resolution? I also see people complaining about the bots. They are saying that they are just stupid lol. I have to agree with others that the player count really needs to be bumped up to at least 24 players.

hipnotyze3757d ago

Why? Have you played this game? If all you can find and eliminate are bots you are doing something wrong. The bots rarely wipe out Pilots, and they also usually help direct the flow of the battle in a specific area. It fleshes out the experience by making the battles more immersive, believable situations.

I'm sorry if some of you think that the bots are a bad idea, but at the same time, I have a hard time believing any of you naysaysers have played the game and know what you're talking about.

H0RSE3757d ago (Edited 3757d ago )

Yeah, once you play the game, you notice that the presence of the AI really doesn't change/ruin anything. If anything, they add a cosmetic flair to the game - something to make the battle seem more dynamic. Something simply adding more players wouldn't do, since the AI is scripted to behave a certain way, rather than the random behavior of players. They are also marked on the minimap, so you know if it is a bot or a player.

Bernlock3757d ago

Do not understand why people complain about bots. I never focus on them and have no problem finding pilots to kill

Voozi3757d ago

I guess you don't play Attrition?

VENOMACR12273757d ago

Aren't they only worth 1 point in attrition where pilots are 4 and titans 5? I only played one game of attrition, didn't like it. Hardpoint is more enjoyable to me, plus the bots don't interfere with the outcome of the game. Finding pilots to kill isn't hard. If your singling in on bots to kill, your really not helping the team where you could be taking down a titan, getting an objective, or finding pilots.

Bernlock3757d ago

Attrition is all I play

Voozi3757d ago

Right but I'm talking about Attrition where bots are problematic. You can run around killing a shit ton of bots very easily and quickly using the auto-aim pistol which gets more points than trying to take down a titan or find enemy pilots to kill.

Because of this, Attrition games only last ~5 minutes and are unplayable, which is an issue.

STANK083757d ago

Attrition last 5 mins? LOL. BS, you haven't played the game based on your exaggerated bogus claim.

Voozi3757d ago (Edited 3757d ago )

Really? Add me on Origin - chezmaster

Attrition games do last 5 minutes if your team knows how to run around with the auto-aim pistol and focus down bots. I hope they fix this because while I do prefer Hardpoint, it's nice to play some TDM to mix things up.

Also, they need implement some sort of team shuffling and/or balancing. A lot of times the games are very one sided which takes away from the fun whether you're on the team doing the steam rolling or on the team getting steam rolled.

dale_denton3757d ago

no skill required and no gun recoil and AI bots.... badass and really fun? Interesting.

towelie12883757d ago

you sound a little jelly kid
its ok

go play knack

dale_denton3757d ago

No thanks. I'm actually having a blast playing Killzone SF.. you know, a competitive online game.

T-Dawg63757d ago (Edited 3757d ago )

I really hate those bots...

styferion3757d ago

one important flaw : not on Sony consoles

WeAreLegion3757d ago

He doesn't seem butthurt. He's just saying it would do even better if it released on another platform.

styferion3757d ago

who's butthurt? don't be so insecure man..
I'm playing it on PC btw.

VanDamme3757d ago

@WeAreLegion Exactly, just like if they released The Order on Xbox.

dale_denton3757d ago

the butthurt? the only flaw he meant was that if cant ever be 1080p on a console because of xbone exclusive holding it back.

I remember when GTA4 DLC was never coming to PS because MS paid for it's development and look what happened there

Gamer19823757d ago

Meh you can play Killzone with humans and bots aswell on PS4 its out now.. But do people use bots?? NOPE.. Not unless there getting offline practice and why is that?? Because bots are useless for anything but practice and a bit of fun.No competitive edge to them whatsoever. Lets be hoenst they were only put in because the xbox couldn't handle more than 12 mechs at once in the game. Thats why its limited to 6 players. The balance chatter is complete BS.. Bots are there to fill out the numbers nothing more because of hardware restrictions.. Maybe they could have got more players if they had longer to work on the game but its going to be rushed as its an early console title.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad631d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g631d ago (Edited 631d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

gurp31d ago

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad912d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal910d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
