Titanfall Beta - A Report From The Field - AMHNetwork

"The scale of the game is impressive, the combat finely tuned and the Titans are as impressive as I’d hoped they would be, and I’m now left chomping at the bit until the games release in mid-March. If you’ve been hanging on for Titanfall, then early impressions say you won’t be disappointed and with any luck the reign of Call of Duty & Battlefield may begin to wane."
An extract from AMHNetwork's Titanfall Beta coverage.

Very fun game! If it was multiplat it would be the first to dethrone cod for real!

mcstorm3766d ago

I agree. This is a very fun fps game ad nice change to the mw fps games we have been over loaded with or the pas 5 years.

Team_Litt3766d ago

The game is on multiple platforms...heck you can even play it on a Sony device...just won't be on PlayStation or Nintendo.

FITgamer3766d ago

I agree it's a fun game, but i really don't think it could dethrone COD even if it was multi-plat. It doesn't have the same competitive aspect that makes COD so popular.

Truehellfire3766d ago

Pretty fun game so far. Not something I am going to buy personally but will definitely appeal to fast-pace FPS fans. By the way, EA sent me multiple beta codes. Anyone who didn't get in here you go.
PC: 2Q5V-RK7Y-5GSG-8C28-CW62
Xbox One: 2XTRF-JMJH4-C4PPG-VGDM6-XVQKZ
PC you have to go to Origin to activate. Just click the Origin Icon in the top left corner and hit redeem product code.

theres an open beta for titanfall on XB1 now

Small maps.
No destruction in env.
Too many canon fodder bots.
Looks like a 360 game.

Fun in small doses, but I get bored after a couple matches. I actually think with some adjustments this could be decent as a Free2Play tablet game. There's not much here demanding on the hardware. Not seeing why all the hype.

It's a lot of noise and flashy booms like Vanquish, but I think there was a lot - A LOT - more to do in Vanquish.

Gr1mmyshadows3766d ago

The maps arent small, and its 6v6 so your not gonna see battlefield type maps

Perjoss3766d ago

I had no idea it was so few people in a match.

thrust3766d ago

Wow, so glad you have nothin to do with making this game, you would break it!

blahblah1233766d ago

I don't need to break it - it breaks itself. It crashes pretty consistently. Every few maps the lobby closes and back in line you go.

For a PC game running on "high" settings on Max resolution it looks pretty bad. When you get into a Titan, those pixelated cockpits look right out of a PS2 game.

The majority of deathmatch you expend time looking for actual opponents because most of what is on screen is AI driven - poorly at that. If you're ok with this kind of thing, then no reason why you can have your own opinion and I can have mine.

For being a "Titan," they're way too easy to destroy. Rodeo gets easier and easier every match. You learn to just run around on the roof tops to rodeo then call in your Titan to mow down runners on the way to the drop ship.

If you're ok with shallow gum drop type entertainment that's all noise and no gameplay, then great, but I think that kind of game is better suited to a tablet game and not $60 on a PC. In fact, HEAVY GUNNER on iPhone is probably a better mech game.

For the hype and the eventual asking price, there should be something a lot deeper here and I'm sure more modes in the final release will accommodate some of that, but the original gimmick wears off quickly.

But then again, Quake was all rocket launcher jumpers and Gears was shot gun spammers and nobody complained. I'm fine being in the minority.

Bolts-N-Rays11093766d ago

Small Maps? Not even close. Yeah, lets put in destructable environments so the pilots can't wallrun and do parkour that the pilots are designed to do, and make it so the pilots can't get away from the Titans. I don't have a big issue with the bots, mostly cause I'm on top of buildings and don't deal with them as much. I don't care what the game looks like. It's fun and that's all that matters to me.

Yeah, your comment is pretty dumb, IMO.

Tomden023766d ago

Throw ps4 out ...this will own

Silly Mammo3766d ago

...Or keep your PS4 and get it for the PC. Titanfall isn't very taxing for a mid-level PC. I turned everything up and get 30-40 fps.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad639d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g639d ago (Edited 639d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad919d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal918d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
