newb cod player lol, bad player

GuyThatPlaysGames3745d ago

WOW! Look at this very generic shooter. This is what the Xbone is hoping to push them over the edge with? This is so laughable. Just after watching the one match, there really doesn't seem to be anything to make me wanna play a round of this game. Bad announcing, basic sound, just a bad game. Glad I have my PS4!

LogicStomper3745d ago

What defines a shooter as 'generic'? How does Titanfall fall under this 'generic' category? What shooter game will you be playing instead of Titanfall? And lastly, how does the shooter game you're going to play instead not fall under this 'generic' category?

Answer all questions please!

GuyThatPlaysGames3745d ago

@logicstomper I'll gladly answer these questions for you. First off where's the variety in this game? Shoot, shoot, shoot jump in titan until it blows up and repeat. Yeah like that won't get old extremely fast.Same old CoD formula. Just added robots and bot players and they make you think it's new. The sound is just so basic and don't even get me started on the crappy graphics (looks like a PS2 game visually). I've been playing BF4 since release on my PS4 and just bought premium and I couldn't be happier. I have tanks, jets, jeeps, helis, attack boats, jetskis, and more shotguns, sniper rifles, marksman rifles, smg's, and assault rifles than I can begin to count. Not to mention, all the tags, camos and attachments to go with all the weapons also. Ok so please tell me just how much better Titanfall is than that. I'll wait.....

@OVOXO_Mike

"Ok so please tell me just how much better Titanfall is than that. I'll wait....."

Well one thing will be if TitanFall works come release.... I mean that would be beneficial right?

"First off where's the variety in this game? Shoot, shoot, shoot jump in titan until it blows up and repeat."

Please tell me how this does not apply to everything that follows in your comment about BF4?

You've made a case against EVERY multiplayer shooter rather than just TitanFall.

"I've been playing BF4 since release on my PS4 and just bought premium and I couldn't be happier."

... You're opinion is downright stupid. Owning BF4 is the utmost enjoyment your PS4 can bring you?

All I have to say: https://encrypted-tbn1.gsta...

LogicStomper3744d ago

Sorry for the wait, I've been revising for an exam so haven't had too much time (although technically N4G is part of my revision *hint *hint what I'm doing now).

"First off where's the variety in this game? Shoot, shoot, shoot jump in titan until it blows up and repeat. Yeah like that won't get old extremely fast.Same old CoD formula."

Okay let's start. The subject is generic shooters. Now you're saying "where's the variety" and that it's "Shoot, shoot, shoot jump in titan until it blows up and repeat." Well if shooting defines a generic shooter, doesn't this make the ENTIRE shooter genre generic? Every shooter game consists of shooting, it's what defines the shooting genre, so calling a game generic because of what defines it as a shooter is silly. Logical failure here.
Also, how do titans make shooters generic? Last I checked, Killzone doesn't have titans. The Last of Us doesn't have titans. Halo Doesn't have titans. CoD doesn't have titans. Battlefield doesn't have titans. So how does this make it generic? You seemed to jump straight to conclusions without supporting evidence of why titans make it generic.

"Just added robots and bot players and they make you think it's new."

Have you played another shooter that has AI and titans in the multiplayer with vertical free-running and jet-packs all in one? I believe you're using the definition of new as a reason for why it's not new. Here are some analogies for understanding the concept:

1) When tablets first came out, they were new right? Well guess what, they were just small computers with a touchscreen. Then surely when tablets first came out, they weren't new right?

2) How about some toy from a new cartoon. You would have seen the cartoon, and you know toys exist, so what's new with this toy from said cartoon?

So the point here is that you can take bits from here and there, to make something new. New does not necessarily mean everything about it has never been seen before.

"The sound is just so basic and don't even get me started on the crappy graphics (looks like a PS2 game visually)."

Please keep away from attacking just because you want to and stick to the discussion. By the way, even if this were the discussion, there are again, no supporting evidence, just empty claims.

"shotguns, sniper rifles, marksman rifles, smg's, and assault rifles than I can begin to count. Not to mention, all the tags, camos and attachments to go with all the weapons also."

This sounds exactly like CoD, so if this is the constituents of a not-generic shooter, CoD would be a non-generic shooter? Well 90% of N4G believe this is not true. The difference (according to your statements) then, are these additional vehicles.

" I have tanks, jets, jeeps, helis, attack boats, jetskis, "

With what you've given, this is what defines the generic CoD with the non-generic BF. But hold on a second, didn't you just say Titanfall was generic because it's shooting with titans (robot vehicles)? Have we just hit a contradiction here? Have you mis-defined generic, so that all shooters fall under this 'generic' category? Or are you saying all shooters are generic?

If you will, you can re-define what makes a shooter generic so that we can reach a conclusion, because so far you've either contradicted yourself or called every shooter a generic shooter.

i think just like a new games in the introduction phase, the hype level is strong, maybe a bit overboard.... This one is even stronger since that CoD fanboy site IGN is hypin it up as well.. People need to really sit back and wait for the IGN's of the world to stop strokin this game and see whats really up with this game.. it may end up like a crappy like recent CoD games..

mymehdi3745d ago (Edited 3745d ago )

Textures and animations are just so poor and ugly.

CrossingEden3745d ago

Pretty sure that's the last thing i'm thinking about when playing the game and fighting two mechs at once and catching missiles mid flight and sending them back at enemies. SUBSTANCE>style. Period.

GuyThatPlaysGames3745d ago

@crossingeden Well when it looks like shit doing it, that's when you'll notice it

frostypants3745d ago

If graphics don't matter, then it won't be a system seller. Everyone will just get the 360 version.

incredibleMULK3745d ago

Two words: low quality.

I'll stick with crysis 2 on PC
And ghosts on ps4.

Ouch.

Watching these clips actually makes me want to boot up Ghosts again.

xReDeMpTiOnx3745d ago

The game looks ok but to me it looks like cod with robots.

Not saying it won't be good because it looks like it plays smooth and it depends on how they innovate things

caseh3745d ago

Doesn't every FPS these days just look like CoD without robots or did I miss something innovative in the FPS genre in the past 7 years or so.

princejb1343744d ago

I agree looks like cod with robots
Yet again seen something and playing it is different
Maybe it will be more interesting ones I get my hands on it
While I was watching this video I was picturing all the cod kids camping waiting for their titans to spawn lol

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad616d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g616d ago (Edited 616d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

gurp16d ago

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad896d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal895d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
