Wow, you droids are f*cking stupid. Mass Effect ran incredibly well on 360 (locked framerate), it only had some minor loading bugs as a result of using UE3, which most UE3 games suffer from.

And seeing as how PS3rd actually has less available ram (crap OS takes-up more ram than 360's awesome OS which has more features), you will have more loading errors as a result.

This is premature speculations at best! Bioware have just finished Mass Effect holiday 2007. They have but about 5 months to work on Mass Effect 2, if indeed they had already started on that. A sequel of ME caliber will take a minimum 18 months to finish, 24 months more reasonable. So at this point there is not thing that can be shown to the public, at there is no need to start the hype about it when there is nothing to be shown.

Nice try, but Mass Effect 1 would run good on the PS3, if developers actually had the balls to code it properly, I can compare the graphics of Mass Effect exactly to Uncharted, That is why many say that the trade off was the 360 got Mass effect and the ps3 got Uncharted.

It isn't a normal RTS. Most RTS's focus on resource management and strategy. Halo wars is supposed to revolve almost entirely around combat.

Taking out resource management makes micro-managing a lot easier, and it could end up working pretty well on a console.

Either way, it's not going to be anything like Starcraft or CnC in the way it plays. Probably more like a large scale Full Spectrum Warrior.

Whenever theres a great IP that seems to be system exclusive, people with another system speculate about weather they will get it? Thats true of any desirable game for whatever system.

It's certainly not only sony boys that are guilty of this. Care to count how many 'Metal Gear coming to 360' stories have been submitted to the site on the flimsiest of evidence? I guarantee you'll run out of fingers counting..

Such speculation simply shows how desirable the game is. As a gamer who doesn't give toss about any one 'side' or another, I'm happy enough to see such great titles get released on all systems that can do them justice - that way more true gamers can get the fresh experience.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet that ME2 will be multi format now that E.A. are the IP owners. Unless of course, MS decide to pay for exclusivity, which might not be a bad move.

Just because they didn't show Halo Wars doesn't mean it's not coming out this fall. It's a pivotal title that NEEDS to come out this year. Alan Wake being pushed back is confirmed. But Mass Effect 2 being multiplatform is pretty obvious. The hardware bases for PS3 and 360 are going to be relatively equal by the end of the year, and that's something that EA obviously will not ignore.

They didn't pay a billion dollars for Mass Effect to be 360-only.

If Mass Effect comes out for PS3, it will start with ME1 of course, them ME2. PS3 owners may be a bit behind. In the end, this is good news for everyone. Even if ME2 comes out on PS3, it does not mean that it wont come out for 360 or PC. All the Bioware games I have are on the PC (I don't have an Xbox or Xbox 360). So in this case I think I will stick with the PC version. I have got to give Microsoft some props on their controller. I have the PC version and I love it. I have big hands and it feels more comfortable than the Playstation controller (IMO).

The people that liked Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) will probably like Mass Effect (ME). If they did not like KOTOR, they probably wont like ME. I thought KOTOR was great. I played ME for a bit at a friends house (Xbox 360), and I can't wait for the PC release. Personally I don't like Real-time Strategy games (RTS). The game can be the best RTS in the world, and get the best reviews, and I still wont like it.

That is why I usually wont buy a game until I tried the demo, or rented the game first.

i never played KOTOR, but i have the Limited Edition of ME on my 360. initially i thought it was the 360's best game, but after the novelty of it wore off i realized that it was just a good game, nothing revolutionary. it was plagued with graphical glitches (mainly really bad texture pop-in that seems to plague Unreal Engine 3 games on the 360), but i hope Bioware fixes these with ME2. i'd still recommend the game though, as it has one of the best sci-fi stories that i've played in a game.

It would not bother me if Metal Gear was released for the Xbox 360 (and I don't want to hear fanboy comments that "Xbox is not powerful enough to play MGS, so HA!!!", because that is not my point). If Konami wanted to make a port that would be cool. Konami is not owned by Sony.

In the end it all depends on the contract the two companies have. More people get to play Mass Effect as a result. The franchise started on the 360 and I will finish it that way. 2008 is looking to be strong. Ninja Gaiden II in June, Too Human in August, Gears of War II in November, Fable II (08) and Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts...360 owners have plenty of excellent titles to play. For comparisons sake I would dare say that Xbox's line up is better than PS3's.

To think that MS would let Mass Effect 2 go multiplat is hilarious. Do you know the amount of money they'd cough up to keep it on 360? By the way, for all you PS3 fanboys who wouldn't touch a 360 because you're just anti-MS for no reason, get yourself a 360 and play Mass Effect. That said, these posts need to stop being approved.

I've been a proud PlayStation gamer for over a decade now, but I'm not blind enough not to notice that MicroSoft and Nintendo have some superb exclusives.

I agree with you in principal that MS would try hard to keep "Mass Effect" exclusive, but it may not be their choice; EA likes going multiplat because they make money doing so. EA now controls BioWare, and with the PS3's install base now growing at a faster rate than 360's, I'm wondering if BioWare's games will go multiplat in the future.

Though the delay for Halo Wars might be possible, as delays are very common in the games industry. But a franchise that has exclusive contracts with MS switching ? I don't think so.

It is not strictly required to put "rumor" in the title, doing so would be altering the original headline. This story is correctly sectioned under "rumors", not "news" and the description was edited to include clear information that the topic is rumored, not confirmed. The article is speculation. However, John Ohlin has a pretty valid argument. Microsoft touted all their BIG first and secondary party titles (games that are either published as MS First Party Titles or they basically own the rights to) at this event. They've long before with Mass Effect treated it the same way. However, not mentioning it at this event was pretty surprising and more than likely COULD be because a) the game will not see a 2008 release and/or B) it's no longer an MS First Party title like it was expected to be. That's like Sony forgetting to mention Little Big Planet or Metal Gear Solid 4 at this point.

EA is and has never been known for doing exclusives. They are a profit company. What are the chances you think they'll keep ANY game exclusive? Probably less than 1% so it is a safe bet that this game and probably the first will find their way to PS3 in one form or the other.

All that's wrong with the article is the headline makes it sounds like it's a definite. However, you all will be singing a different tune anyway when it turns into reality. I think he's just playing his cards and he has a good grasp with how PR works and by them suspiciously not mentioning what was arguably going to be ONE of their BIGGEST titles of the year (and a former exclusive at that) then that does raise a few eyebrows.

Personally, I think that MS will pay whatever it has to in order to keep it exclusive. I doubt that they're going to let this come to pass.

In the unlikely event that this happens, I will gladly deposit my $120 for Mass Effect and its Sequel if it just happens both of them get ported. I wouldn't have to spend $400 on another console, except perhaps for Gears of War 2 :D.

MS has made the mistake of paying out developers with millions of dollars to try to keep games exclusive whereas Sony does not do that.

Microsoft will not keep paying out devs like its going out of style, because it doesn't make financial sense.
So basically what I'm saying is that as time goes on, their exclusives will become multi platform titles with the only exception being HALO.
