Yes but people want reaffirming that their console is a more powerful machine. Hell they are probably seeing these articles as compliments to their choice of system. At the end of the day I don't mind if it looks better on PS4, graphics aren't as important to me as they so apparently are to others.

The Xbox One version of a multiplatform game being weaker is pretty much status quo at this point. People are either going to have to accept this and move on or buy the PS4 if they want the most powerful console.

Spitfire the problem with gaming, though games are still a lot of fun, is that it has become a graphic-whore fest and gameplay mechanics have barely changed. More power and new designs should be leading to better gameplay, more destruction, better AI and more going on in the game. Better looking gets boring after a while. It time for better games.

well said, i already said this numerous time in the past. people are really contradicting themselves all the time. if graphics not impt we can all just stick to the same console forever. they are just part of the package. so saying it is not impt is just an excuse. also half of these people who call gfx not impt are also the same people who ever made comments like the graphics could have been better for blah blah blah games they played.

and you were absolutely right about another point too. last gen when 360 has a slightly better version of the game. where it is so minor like a 1 - 3 fps difference or slightly lower texture quality, PS3 suddenly become an inferior console or an overpriced internet bluray player. but today when the difference being this huge, they now say gfx dont matter and it is not something that is a concern. there another thing that is extremely contradicting.

You have to understand Mike, it's all about graphics. Gameplay? Who cares. As long as it looks beautiful all that matters. Personally, I know that when I play BF and I have bullets flying around me, buildings crumbling, I'm looking at a wall saying "geez, that's not as sharp as the PS4. Those edges look horrible." Gameplay doesn't matter to some people. A good story, fantastic gameplay, excellent sound track....all useless. I'm same boat as you, I play BF and I think it looks awesome on X1, doesn't bother me one bit the PS4 looks slightly better.

Nice one for openly expressing your opinion on the ps being the more capable console.... that is way too hard for many of the ardent 360/x1 camp to do without the obligatory 'but' foolishness that often ensues. Like I've stated before...one side will get bored when the other side just chill out and accept the hard facts. Until then, when the defiant ones stop spinning, the other side will continue to shove proof in their faces.

I owned a PS3 and X360. Only games I bought on PS3 were exclusives. I like the Xbox controller better and Live service better so I bought all multiplatform games for the 360. I'd do the same for the PS4 if I had one. I wouldn't buy a game for one console or the other just because graphics are slightly better. More about which system I enjoy playing on most, which friends are buying it for which system, stuff like that.

Dont start feeling sorry for us because none of us are worried about anything. Sunset Overdrive looked amazing from an artistic view and its looking even better. Quantum Break looks just as good as the Order. Ryse looks very good. When Gears 4 looks just as good as the tech demos we wont have anything to be ashamed of. And we all know that 343 is gonna out do everything else that I mentioned.

I was strictly speaking of multiplats not exclusive games. Those look great on both consoles but I was saying that these articles arent going to stop once the big multiplatform games hit. It is almost sad to see so many people reassuring themselves that the PS4 is so great and X1 is so bad.

Help me if I'm wrong: The PS4 is the best console ever. Sony has never made any mistakes. Anything MS has done is evil. X1 is the worst console ever released in the history of consoles. It's ugly, it's too big, it's underpowered, it's too expensive, it will never sell, it has Kinect, it had DRM in mind but did a 180, it doesn't display at the right resolution or frame rate, it was released too early, it has a horrible UI, it doesn't display 3-D Blu-Ray...am I getting this right?

I own one, I have none of the above issues. As any X1 owner will tell you, they don't either. Isn't it about time we move on to more important things? Instead of digging up every single negative article about the X1 written by anyone aged 13-61?

I agree with you that one article stating that X game is better on Y console is more than enough. However that shouldn't stop other comparison articles from different games from appearing. For example an article that claims Tomb Raider is better in the PS4 is fine and another article that claims Sniper Elite is better on the PS4 is fine as well.

Thats why I use Eurogamer for comparison articles however articles from sites like IGN are valid in my opinion.

Like I said I use Eurogamers or developers for comparisons between multiplats and so far the PS4 has been quite rosy for me with 1080P resolutions and great framerates.

Don't try to reason, let them have their fun. Enjoy your X1, and don't worry what PS4 fans say. If you argue anything about the X1 you'll get loads of disagrees and lose your bubbles.

If Microsoft wanted a graphical powerhouse, they would have made one, because that is the only thing ps4 has x1 trumped in, graphics. Instead, we get a machine with great graphics with true innovation built right in. Now, if only they'd get the bugs worked out =)

Look at the specs, do you really think the xbone will match the ps4? If a game runs at 1080p/60fps on the xbone then for sure it can run on ps4 with even more improvements. Besides if they try to achive the 1080p/60fps they will have to make heavy downgrades im sure of it(Look at forza 5). Its best to make the game look as pretty as possible so it dosent look like a joke in comparsion to other next-gen games. Of course fps is also very important too.

of course sony's games will look prettier (did on the PS3 cuz it was the more powerful console only 1st party seemed to get around the complexity) but multiplats will eventually be the practically the same in my predication..

compare a game back in 06 on the xbox 360 or ps3 to one from last year and you'll see a huge difference all down to devs getting used to the console and it's architecture.

You cannot have it both ways there, look the xboxone like the xbox360 before it is a good platform, but here is the blunt truth of the matter. Microsoft has a very straight up history of never pushing the hardware they release. while the games are indeed fun, Microsoft just does not see it worth the expense to put more investment into a game than needed. And its very clear they do not have to with the profits generated on the return they get. Nothing wrong with that its really smart to do so. but this idea that Microsoft has changed.

And that Microsoft 1st party is going to really push the hardware of the xbox platform at the expense of Profit, because it will cost more time and man power to do so.

Well in my opinion, do not bet on it.

That is the very reason why it is what it is. Microsoft would rather rake in record profits than really invest more into a iP in order to gain very little advantage of that iP looking slightly better. Than making the game with slight reduced graphics, and still fun to play and still gain more profit on the sale.

30fps is fine as long as it's locked or very close in some genres like these two. And for what the games are looking to achieve. IQ/Effects > framerate.

Because the consoles can't handle it. It's either uncapped so you get a slight judder when it drops or they cap it at 30 for smoother gameplay. If they could cap it at 60 they would.

Please stop these unlocked framerate games developers. Do everyone a favor and just lock it to 30 and use the extra power on PS4 in other ways. Bump some graphical effects up, raise the FOV or the amount of detail in general. Just don't make a game that runs at 45-50fps average.

Why not? If you have a problem with 45-50 fps on average you obviously have never played a PC game. I dont get how hard it is to understand but bouncing around 45-60 fps is hardly noticeable which is why it happend on tomb raider and the game isnt locked at 30fps. same thing can be said with killzone.

The only time where it really starts getting noticeable is when it starts dropping to 40 fps and lower. Thats when you start seeing the choppy look.

AS long as the game stays above 45 fps ON AVERAGE i could care less if its locked at 60 fps or not.

Hang on before the trumpets start blowing. Killzone shadow fall has just had a patch to limit it to 30fps to stop the judder. You may not use it, but they recognize it has slight issues so put it in, which is what they are doing on Xbox One titles. Both consoles will struggle to hit 60fps which is pretty sad really & I'm a proud owner of a PS4.

One of the reasons I bought the PS4 is because it's a more powerful machine. If developers are going to purposefully gimp the PS4 version for parities sake there aren't going to be getting a penny from me.
