NSA Invading Mobile Games Privacy Evidence Found In Angry Birds And More

New evidence surfaces of the NSA once again invading gaming territories this time on Mobile Devices.

Snookies123758d ago

Lol, good thing I avoid phone games like the plague. They're ruining real gaming...

caseh3757d ago

I play games on my phone along with using emulators, failing to see how that ruins the games I play on consoles or PC.

Snookies123757d ago (Edited 3757d ago )

It has effects on console and PC gaming because developers will start to realize that these god-awful practices phone games use can really rake in the money. Pay $2 dollars to get a few extra lives! Pay $15 dollars to get all these gems which you can use to do all sorts of things! Pay $80 dollars to get an exclusive item that no one else has! Do you seriously want these things in your console/PC games? I sure as hell don't. I've been gaming since the NES days, but I will completely drop this hobby if this becomes the standard.

Screw that, and that's just my worry for console/PC gaming. It's actively ruining handhelds. Developers are going to see how much easier it is to just make a shitty phone game for a fraction of the cost and double the profit instead of making a full fledged experience on the 3DS or Vita. This is actively driving down the handheld market. What's the incentive to actually take your time in making an amazing game when you can just throw some cruddy game out there to morons who will pay you all kinds of money just to get further in it? So yes, it is ruining gaming.

caseh3757d ago

Can't blame mobile games for that.

If you really want to point the finger, point it at us...the gamers. We allowed it to happen, F2P games or even retail games. We actively pay for 'premium passes' to get access to maps and content within a month of paying for the game itself.

I mean to say, if you can tell me where I can get the recent remake of Final Fantasy 6 outside of my mobile phone i'm all for it. Wait, that's right it isn't available on any other platform.

Mobile gaming isn't ruining gaming, its expanding the audience. If this ruins the handheld market then there is clearly something wrong with that market to begin with to be beaten down by an inferior experience, surely?

NSA were checking if the bombs in angry birds are feasible in the real world.

1nsomniac3757d ago

They did use birds for bombing in WW1/2 after all so wouldn't put it past them.

1nsomniac3757d ago

? who disagreed with that? Maybe not the NSA directly but government agencies as a whole.

They used pigeons in war planes that tapped on glass targets on the plane windows to indicate to the pilots when to drop bombs.

They have a long history of using animals as weapons including dogs with C4 strapped to them.

Even recently in the Iraq oil war it's been claimed they used honey badgers lol. Fierce!

Seraphim3757d ago

here I thought it was because all Terrorists play Angry Birds and other popular games on their cellular telly. What a joke our Nation has become. Strip it down I say, strip it down and build it back up before we crumble like the Romans.

Soldierone3757d ago

Personally think the NSA are hindering technology more than anything. Anything that needs data now requires a back door so the NSA can rape them of information. That opens security holes.

Next people hate the NSA so they are not comfortable with anything that is data mining, no matter the cause. Things like Kinect, Google stuff, searching data, things that gear towards specific people etc.... all are being held back because nobody wants the NSA leaching on to it.

alejandroelputo3757d ago (Edited 3757d ago )

What's so bad about the NSA, doesn't the people of the United States love their country and the freedom they have thanks to their government? If they do then why hate NSA when they are protecting us from terrorist? Are people just scared about the illuminati, being watched, aliens, mind control, and all that stuff than movie and the internet makes us believe? Just plain why, I'm okey with it and I'm not scared of anything for I have the power of courage :D

Those who would give up Essential Liberty
to purchase a little Temporary Safety,
deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

BX813757d ago

Good one NSA. You made me believer.... Smh.

Ripsta7th3757d ago

No thats is how Hitler got to become a tyrant because the people of his coubtry never stood up to him

ravinash3757d ago

What happens when information they gather on you is used against you when you made a comment one day about something you disagreed with about the government.
The government isn't prosecuting people today, but you can't be sure that will always be the case... and the data will always be kept there.

Plus what happens when a small business is competing against a larger company that has contacts with the government?

Gathering intel is important, but if your gathering to much on people who aren't a threat to your country...then what is the reason for that?

Sega Nears Deal For ‘Angry Birds’ Mobile Game Maker

The Japan-based entertainment conglomerate is expected to pay about $1 billion for Rovio Entertainment.

sparky77402d ago

If you want to remain relevant you need a mobile powerhouse. MS got Minecraft, maybe King soon, T2 got Zynga, EA got Glu, Tencent got most of the other big ones.

Sony is likely looking for one too or they will be left behind.

Vengeance1138401d ago

Sony already owns the #2 highest grossing mobile game ever in Fate/Grand Order.
That game is close to Genshin Impact levels of monthly revenue.

Lifexline402d ago

Well angry birds still makes money so it’s not a dead horse. They just need another hit.

darthv72402d ago

Angry Sonic, Angry Tails, Angry Amy, Angry Knuckles, Angry Chaos....

Lifexline402d ago

Lol yeah you would be surprised at what could sell. I could see it.

porkChop401d ago

Angry Taxi might actually work.

blackblades401d ago (Edited 401d ago )

Looks like something MS would grab. I wont be surprised some how ms gets Sega with this included magically.

-Foxtrot400d ago

We could fund more games like Sonic Mania

We could buy the music rights back to Sonic 3

We could reboot some old franchises like Ristar, Shinobi, Gunstar Heroes or Golden Axe

...Nah. Angry Birds it is

Snookies12402d ago

Wait, have they even made anything since then? Thought they were a one-hit wonder lol.

darthv72402d ago

I didn't know they did a bunch of stuff prior to Angry Birds:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Pretty much everything since has been a spin off. Now maybe Sega will make Angry Chaos or something similar.

FallenAngel1984401d ago

Mojang only made one game and Microsoft still purchased them for $4 billion

Sometimes one property is all you need especially when it’s lucrative

MadLad401d ago

Angry Birds fell out of relevance years ago, but whatever they want to do lol.

Angry Birds Popularity Means its Culling on Android

Rovio has released a statment saying that Angry Birds popularity means its culling on Android after Thursday 23rd Feb 2023.

IanTH452d ago (Edited 452d ago )

Hilarious they see what the market wants, and instead of making more things like that, kills it and is trying to funnel people towards a worse prodcut because GaaS trash makes them more money. Why did they even remake the game and sell it for a buck in the first place then?! The version they're killing hasn't even been out a year.

Also, completely removing from Google Play, but renaming on Apple? Why removing on one and keeping on the other?

Inverno452d ago

People like the simplicity of paying once for a product and never having to give any more, or worry about the intrusion of ads, mtx, subscriptions. Who would've thought? lol.
I imagine that renaming it would make people think it's a knckoff and push them towards their other games. On Android most likely people will just download an APK.

XxINFERNUSxX452d ago

This is why I love Android. You can go to a site like apk mirror and download the apk cracked and install it. Also you can torrent hundreds of Android games so easily. They can pull anything they want off the store I wouldn't care less 🤣

DarkkMinion452d ago

This is why mobile games need to die once and for all. These companies are hilarious. I understand they need to make money but this is just an insult.
