Looks good this, but is it me or does this look last gen? ... I'm expecting to get bladed here lol

Einhert3760d ago

It is one of the best horror games recently and it was made by a small dev.

Contrary to popular belief games do not need to be AAA and have photo realistic graphics to be good!

Matt6663760d ago

well said man a game isn't just about graphics gameplay plays a important part too

FoxTC3758d ago

Sounds like you agree it's good and you agree it doesn't have AAA graphics. At no point did I say that the graphics make the game good, I just pointed out that they aren't...

Right, where was I? Oh yes, back to Minecraft.

CynicalKelly3760d ago

Well it is a year old indie game made by 5 people. Graphics wasn't the focus and it's not the most important thing in gaming.

There is more to games than looking pretty, I have played plenty of games that look great but play like crap.

whitefang19883760d ago

It may do, but what defines a PC game as last gen? Condemned 1 is still pretty scary if you play it now and that's almost a decade old now...

christrules00413756d ago (Edited 3756d ago )

In PC gaming there really isn't a last gen or next gen game. You can have older parts but downgrade the resolution, anti aliasing and different graphic related stuff. It's really just upgrades and if you wanna set up 3 monitors side by side then you need a pretty awesome gaming rig. If you go back and play older games with the graphic cards we have now we can max the frame rate.

In 2 to 4 years the Titan will most likely be a medium graphics card where the GTX 760 is right now for $300 and lots of people will upgrade. That won't make the PS4/Xbox One last gen even though they will hold pc games back. They are struggling to do 1080p 60fps so in 2 to 4 years if most people are using titans it'll be 72060fps or even subhd 30fps on consoles.

Even right now if you sli 2 gtx 760s you get about 40% more performance then the Titan.

what the hell i still cant find it on the ps store??

Tru_Blu3760d ago

Store updates around 5pm central time. Big game like CoD, GTA ect they do put up at midnight west coast time though.

toddybad3760d ago

is out tomorrow in uk.
I refuse to click on the link. Why do people like watching how to complete a game before they even have the game thus running any plot twists or surprises?

whitefang19883760d ago

Thanks for that info I was wondering why its not on here. Is it like that for everything on psn? Uk gets it on wensdays? And is it updated in the mornings or bang on midnight? I never used my ps3 as my main console so haven't taken notice.

no idea i'm new to ps4!
appears that we get stuff slightly after north america so far.

A lot of my favourites are on this list so I whole heartedly approve.
Everything except The Observer. It started out really interesting but quickly unraveled into a train wreck. Including frustratingly dull dives into mind sequences, They neutered the monster with boring on rail stealth sequences and a laughably obvious and cringeworthy ending. Mix in bugs and some wonky controls to boot.
I had really strong impressions with it to start but ended up absolutely hating it.

I got 2-3hrs in and couldn't take it anymore, the constant need to switch between the 3 visions just became so annoying and honestly just unnecessary.

monkey602562d ago

I actually agree. At first I thought it was a great idea because the game wasn't holding your hand with the Detective work but it was so unintuitive too. It became a sequence of staring at everything for long enough in 3 different vision modes just to see what stuck.

Soma would be more existential horror than anything but I'll be damned if it didn't have one of the best stories in game that I've experienced. Blew my mind.

I remember the suffering and it was descent game. I always wanted to play Crimson but never got to it.

But honestly, I’ve never played a game that really scared me, like some movies from the past have.

Silly gameAr583d ago

I remember The Suffering 1 and 2. I haven't thought about those games in years. I still remember some parts of the level in the prison where a guy was sucked through a vent screaming. I don't know why that's stuck with me all of these years.

I'm saving RE VIII for when the PS VR2 comes out.
