I miss Monster Hunter. I'm picking up a 3DS this week and I was excited to learn I could get Monster Hunter for it. Then I found out, there's no online MP for it. I'd love to see one come to PS4. That, or at least announce a proper sequel for Dragons Dogma.

MH4 has online multiplayer (: you just gotta wait til 2015 lol

As for THIS game I never thought we'd see this game in the west

Perjoss3769d ago

2015 is a pretty crazy wait, still we cannot complain as quite a few MH games have sadly not even made it over to the west, so 2015 for MH4 is better than not at all.

I've read in quite a few places that the localization of games from japanese to western is not as simple as just translating the voice and text, I really need to look this up as I'm quite curious as to what kind of work exactly goes into transforming a MH game from japanese to english.

Always grateful for a new MH game even if they have a huge delay on them. Really wish we got a western version of that psp game MH Portable 3rd!

@Perjoss

It is really not difficult to translate a Monster Hunter game compared to other games. I'm not saying it's easy, but audio in the Western versions of the game, remains either in Japanese, or their own "hunter" speak. Sometimes the NPCs don't seem to even speak Japanese. The items in the newer games, have the same descriptions and uses as they did in the old ones. Translate something once, and there isn't much need to translate it in the future if you don't change it.

The real thing is that Capcom wants this series to grow in the West, yet they don't stay on top of the series and bring over games. We didn't get Portable 3rd. We won't be getting 4 until it's 4G, we didn't get AruAru village or whatever the side game was. For how big this series is in Japan, there is really no reason to be selective on titles or have to go years without a Monster Hunter game.

Yeah, if you own a Wii-U. At which point, why in the world would I purchase the game for the 3DS if I need a stupid Wii-U in order to play online. That's dumb.

MH3 online is only on Wii U, but if you have 3DS and Wii U (I think if I am not mistaken) then you can play both online by connecting both somehow (or did I dream somewhere) :)))

I'm just curious because i herd it was comeing to ps3 and wiiu and i herd they would all be able to play together on 1 server. Dos anyone know if this is true? Be great if it does.

EliteGameKnight3769d ago

please let this happen, I love the Monster Hunter series. I've invested far to much time into it as it is, this would just be the final nail in the coffin to make me a complete recluse.

Huge fan of the series, a shame that they turned their backs on the playstation brand (for the series) and the original fanbase.

There were some good Japan exclusive Mega Man games, most notably another Mega Man & Bass for WonderSwan.
