And as usual, they turned off the full RGB on the ps3 version. That much I know they do for a fact because back when I still had a 360, I used to download the same demos of both versions of games (ps3 and 360) and literally click my tv from one game to another.

The last several multiplatform games I picked up both versions but this time I am only getting it for the PS3. Why? My Logitech G25 wheel works on the PS3 and it doesn't on the 360.

I will never play a racing game without a wheel again. I really wish MS would loosen the leash and let us use perps like this on the 360.

The 360 version clearly had 6.2 more pixels than the PS3 version - I counted and the PS3 actually runs at a native resolution of 713.8p (not TRUE HD). And, if you look really close at the very end, there's at least a WHOLE TIRE more knocked into the air on the 360 during the final crash montage. So, it's obvious everyone should sell their PS3's and get 360's so they can enjoy the superior version of this superior game on the superior platform.

Anyways... I try nickpicking and the developers did a good job in both versions... Exept for the constant screen tearing on the PS3 (see picture to see what I was talking about... see the video and see the uper part of the screen)..
I am not going to blame the PS3 on this since... some TVs tend to do this at certain resolutions... I think both PS3 and xbox 360 gamers wil be happy...

If you have a ps3 along with your 360, have BOTH systems pulled to HDMI and the ps3 RGB turned on.

In fact, ever since it became public knowledge that GT doesn't play the ps3 footage at full spec I've made my own comparisons

I've made past comparisons and GT makes games look drab on ps3. Of course, I can't compare anymore since I don't even have a 360 anymore. I used to just download demos of the same games to compare

Also The PS3 version has no HDR lighting nor does it have special efffects on par with the 360.

That last crash in both version seemed from two different generations effects wise.

The GRID demo was a let down for me. I remember the GRID devs were saying that GT5 was going to have some competition as far as physics went. After playing GT5 then GRID, GRID was horrible...... I don't know, mabye I have to give it a second chance and more time, but I thought the physics were horrible.

Physics is MORE than just crashes and deforming models. Its a shame that people seem to forget that the complete behavior of the car on the track, the over and understeering based on braking and car setup, front or rear or 4w transmission etc is all physics based. And there GT5p is WAY more realistic than Grid. Grid has some fancy deforming when hitting something, but the crashes are mostly scripted, not physics based.

You hit someone slightly on the rear left, voila, your car takes a full spin. You hit a wall straight, voila you take a full spin, you hit a wall at any angle, voila, you get the SAME full spin you get in every crash. Thats not physics, thats a simple scripted system to penalize touching of cars and walls.

The Grid demo was a mayor letdown to me, compared to the hype they created when stating it would rival GT5P .. It does not, not even close.

well, you can see that the smoke effects are better on the 360 from the part when the car gets caught in the sand trap and at the end with the two accidents. The smoke effects were better and had more volume to them then on the ps3. It's funny, i don't normally do this, but if it was going on in the ps3, then people on here would have readily noticed that. Hmmm..... I've seen people on this site say that they can see unbelievable things yet they couldn't see the volumetric smoke effects were different. Which was readily obvious to me.

The game looks great, i've played the demo, and it'll probably be great on both systems, but there are differences; subtle, but there are differences. Just had to point it out, because i noticed it and maybe you all need to take another look.

Ok seriously.. Lets be honest, Most Multiplat games will be some what the same with minor diferences.. but since 360 has to dev on a DVD9 disc.. Ps3 gets gyped because the devs dont get to use most of Ps3 power..If you make a game bigger than 10 gigs you would have to put it on 2 discs for 360.. Thats just stupid.. so every Multiplat game will always be small and limited...

Until they make each game individually for each console to get the max out of them.. They will be pretty much mirror images.. but devs wont do that.. cause they want everyone to have an equal experience.. So Ps3 owners BluRay disc will only use like 1/7th of its capabilities.. and only like 15% of Ps3 Power

Both versions of this game are more identical then probably any other multiplatofrm game I have compared this gen. The only differences I noticed is in color (a very slight difference and neither is better over the other but just different) and sound.

Not talking about the obvious washed out color difference but did anyone notice the crashes in the end? The ps3 version dint have as much damage and smoke as 360 one. It even looked like there was any damage at all. It cud easily have been a scene from GT5P.

hmm, well porting the engine to a symmetrical architecture like the 360 is alot lot easier and be able to get the framerate solid because of it, whereas the PS3 is asymmetrical, it's still hard even if they have worked with Sony, it depends on Codemasters skill.

and just to mention that the Burnout developers flat out said they couldn't use the PS3's RSX to it's fullest extent, the power is restricted, I wouldn't be surprised if Codemasters says a similar statement..

excuses?, Heavenly Sword developers said the framerate was over 30fps in the demo, the final game was 30fps anyway but it putted out a heck of alot of stuff to the graphics, NAO32 etc, which is considered REAL HDR, they even said they believe the RSX will have an edge over Xenos in the future, and these developers also have a game in the works on the 360 too, so they should know what their talking about...

There were not nearly enough crashes in that video. I don't especially care about the look of the game right now.

I think the only way for them to have saved face after what they did would have been to actually prove that they were telling the truth and just f@cked up.

With only 2 crashes it's too hard to tell if some hidden variables made the differences. That in mind, the 360 crash did look better at the end as far as car damage was concerned, though not by much.

To answer your Rant, Fan-boys are generated because they could only afford one system. So to make themselves feel better, they will try to downplay the other console.

However there are other circumstances. For example me, I have a 360, PS3, and Wii. I hardly play the Wii, well because it's mostly for my girlfriend and people who come over. I play the 360 for specific games like Gears of War, Dead Rising, etc. Then I use the PS3 for all my media needs like MP3s, pictures, movies, blu-ray movies, and most multiplat games and exclusive PS3 games.

So as much as I like the 360, I just actually hate Microsoft. Microsoft's history is one of the worst in the industry. And it doesn't continue to get any better. They are already thinking about abandoning Vista, when that's basically abandoning the people who bought a PC that only came with Vista. Then when it comes to PR talks or interviews, they act like little children. Like the whole "What you can do in 5 minutes when booting up GTA IV." And things like that. Then don't get even me started about the original Xbox. My friend who bought an XBOX used up all his money for the system. Just for 8-9 friggin months later for them to abandon the console and go with the 360.

So you see my friend, sometimes people have reasons to dislike specific companies. However I agree that some people take it just way too far. They burn it into they're hearts and act as if they're lives depend on they're multiplat games having 2 more pixels than the other console.

I'm glad people can cling to screenshots of a game while making it seem as though gameplay doesn't even matter anymore. You DO understand that whichever console is the lead platform, that is the one that will most likely look better don't you? Anyways, the demo for this was terrible and the driving was horribly unrealistic (especially going from 0-100 in a bmw in 5 seconds). If I wanted a game like this, I would beg for a new Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit instead.

GRID has the best car damage I've seen so far in a racing game. It's like Project Gotham arcade style mixed with Forza damage physics. I couldn't believe the damage I gave my car on the drifting circuit on the demo. The outrageous torque of the Mustang GT was hard as hell to drive. The damage sustained on the Nissan Silvia while drifting was sick. This is one of the best racing games I've ever played. If you want a challenge for a racing game, GRID is the one.

I am seeing the "RGB Full" option is being discussed here. That option making the image look better will be tv specific. RGB full expands the color range to that of a computer monitor. Some tvs will accept it properly, while others will just change the picture, it will look different but that doesn't mean it is a better picture. If you want to know if "RGB Full" makes your picture better then buy DVE and run through the calibration. "RGB Full" may be exactly the same as "RGB LIMITED", you may be able to tweak your tv settings while on "RGB Full" to make it look identical to the picture you had when you had "RGB LIMITED" selected. If you can do that then you are probably loosing detail or color accuracy by having "RGB FULL" turned on. If you want more info on this head over to AVSForum and type in RGB FULL and there will be more stuff on it.
My point in all of this is that maybe the guys at Gametrailers don't have "RGB FULL" turned on because their tvs don't process is correctly.
