I dnt understand this. Not trying to insult you or anyone else but wouldnt you automatically know is just a video game and it cant harm you(except nimghtmares) . Is it that you guys get so into the game that it almost feels real?? Or is it the jumpscares??once again, not trying to insult just very curious

That's what I think to myself before playing games, but when I actually play a few games make me jump. Even a game like Uncharted 2 made me jump when there was a monster thing hidden in a shadow and it growled all of a sudden. So I feel like when I play this the parts that will scare me are when something just pops up out of nowhere when I don't expect it.

If you can honestly play this game, alone in your house and at night... Yet feel nothing... then I applaud you!

I remember some parts from Res 4 that were just straight up creepy. So, yes.. certain games can have an affect to your mood.

I understand having trouble with horror games. I have only played a few because I get so into games that even non horror games get me shaking from stress, MGS I sit in hiding and watch the routine of each soldier for like 10 minutes before I dare take a step in the open. Horror games are harder than other mediums because it draws you into the game far more than a movie or book does. With that said, a good scare is welcomed from time to time, and being free is a big plus

I have played it on PC and its without doubt the best horror game I have ever played and it looks incredible.

Mmmm I eat horror movies for breakfast and as a bedtime snack. The only reason you people get scared is because you let your mind scare you. I doubt this game will be scary but I just hope its good. I'm hoping Amnesia comes to PS4 sometime as well.

Some games manage to be more scary than others and video game experiences tend to have that extra element beyond horror movies. Video games can trigger emotional responses that aren't normally experienced in everyday life, like the feelings of dread and panic in horror games.

This is the experience that I have been waiting for. Allow me to explain:

I play all of my games, and watch all Netflix, with my Vita ear buds in. All you "real" headset owners know how awesome that is, and now everyone can *experience cheap surround sound for the price I'm comfortable spending(personally) which is twenty bucks. ANYWHO! When I first experienced BF4 with headphones I heard a helicopter above me, prompting me to turn my head directly at the source of the sound. I had a thought... How incredible would a horror game be with my ear buds? The thought excited me...

Here we are... God I am excited for this.

I maintain that video-game horror is one of the rawest, liveliest and best way to experience video-games. NOTHING compares to the immersion of a good horror game. A shame that the well has virtually dried up in recent years, but Outlast definitely has its moments and well worth a play.

I feel sorry for those that are frightened to try certain games out, you're missing out on feelings that can't be replicated in any other way :)
