Hmm, this looks a lot different than what I expected. Not sure how I feel. Seems a lot more shooty instead of melee weapons, or maybe that's just because they're showing off an early level of the game with basic equipment.

Abriael3759d ago

It's mostly that the one playing is playing a shooty character. If you check carefully, other characters use melee weapons.

dedicatedtogamers3759d ago

Hmm, I suppose you're right. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. The 8p co-op is really awesome. Even on consoles, most co-op games are limited to 4p.

Abriael3759d ago (Edited 3759d ago )

Careful, it's 4 players.

The other 4 are the players' "accessories," IE: their customizable AI partners/jailors.

Positiv3tension3759d ago

Actually, dedicatedtogamers is right. It's 8 human players each with AI for a grand total of 16 participants.

The game reminds me so much of the "earth defense force" series with an RPG twist to it.

I'm loving what I'm seeing so far! :D

If the Asian version of this game has full English subtitles, than I will probably import this game.

I still feel movement speed could be made a little quicker.

And I do hope that the cut to the boss creature whenever it trasnforms or goes down is only something implemented in this tutorial type level cause the cut from your own game to just see the creature could c\get annoying if it happens everytime.

Otherwise, game looks awesome. Cant wait for this to release!

So excited for Freedom Wars!

killerluffy1233759d ago

Hello Vita lovers , can anyone plz tell me is the freedom wars shown in the video above , a asian version or a us/western version ?

killerluffy1233759d ago (Edited 3759d ago )

Anybody plz reply , I need to know and if possible plz provide the release date too !!! :)

r213759d ago

This shown in Taipei. im guessing its Asian.

killerluffy1233759d ago

Does this mean that the asian simultaneous release japan studio mention is this ? A combination version of jap voice and eng subtitles ? And btw I am still wondering is this a constant internet game ( multiplayer ) or its just like soul sacrifice which contains both multi and offline campaign ?

Inception3759d ago (Edited 3759d ago )

No, the asian ver doesn't have english subs
http://www.siliconera.com/2...

And yes, this is like Soul Sacrifice. You have story / campagin mode and online / offline MP.

About the release date, we're still don't know. But my prediction is april / may / june. And i'm sure sony will bring this game to the west.

MonChiChi3759d ago

My vita would love this, I would know, it tells me everyday.

Mexxan3759d ago

Hmmmm..... Not so exited about this now.

PS Vita Exclusives Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice to Have Servers Shuttered

Sammy: "Two high-profile PS Vita exclusives, Freedom Wars and Soul Sacrifice, will have their servers deactivated on 24th December, 2021. Both titles, published by Sony in response to its loss of Monster Hunter exclusivity, were built around co-operative play, and maintained relatively dedicated communities to this day."

Oreshika is also getting it servers shut down too. Big shame for these games. Honestly some of Vita's gems.

Snookies12895d ago

I'm surprised these were even still up! Loved the Vita though, had some great times with that handheld.

XxSPIDEYxX895d ago

These games deserve sequels or remakes. It was Soul Sacrifice that even got me into Monster Hunter.

Rangerman1208895d ago (Edited 895d ago )

Honestly surprised they never got ported to the ps4 or even PC. Since Sony won't give the vita another shot, wht not make a Vita collection? Could have Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars, KZ Mercs, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Murasaki Baby, etc. As a way to conmemorate the Vita.

CDbiggen895d ago

Freedom wars servers are still up? Holy shit.

jimbo6597895d ago

This why you never should have achievements/trophies locked to online only features.

Vita's 10 Best Online Games

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Competing with other players online is ingrained into the gaming ecosystem these days, with every hardware manufacturer (even the previously resistant Nintendo) offering ways to connect to others over the internet to engage in multiplayer. Ever since SEGA blazed a trail with their gone-too-soon Dreamcast and titles such as Chu Chu Rocket and Phantasy Star Online, the console landscape changed towards embracing the internet – solidified further by Microsoft’s Xbox initiative in 2001.

On handhelds, inroads into online gaming were slower, but with the advent of Sony’s PSP in 2005 that changed again and suddenly portable experiences were offered that could also connect with other players across the world. This was refined further with their next-generation handheld the PlayStation Vita, which offered improvements like easily accessible friends lists, system-based party chat, alongside some of the best portable online games that were available at the time of its release."

Killzone Mercenary has spectacular gameplay and great mp. Underrated game.

Helldivers was pretty awesome to have on Vita.

NFS MW worked well on Vita.

NecrumOddBoy1839d ago

Killzone Mercenary is not only a phenomenal KZ, it has the best integrated system shared between the campaign and the online community. I wish more shooters were this incredible.

At Least Someone at PlayStation Still Remembers About Freedom Wars

Do you remember Freedom Wars? A collaboration between Sony Interactive Entertainment's own Japan Studio, God Eater's former team Shift and Dragon Ball Xenoverse developer Dimps, it was released as one of the PS Vita's highest-profile Japanese games in 2014.

Turns out that there is at least someone at Sony who still remembers.

Great game made by very talented teams. A sequel is probably hopeless though...

Godmars2901909d ago

Likely would have to be a port first.

Pastemaniak1909d ago

I booted it again last week and I had forgotten how fun the game was. I wish they ported it to PS4 or something along with soul sacrifice

Kurisu1909d ago

I just checked my download list because I vaguely remember it being a PS+ title. I've got it "purchased", but I've yet to try it. Will have to download it and give it a go at some point.

SegaSaturn6691909d ago

I played this game for about 2 hours. Then it froze during a menu. Never touched it again.

DanielEndurance1909d ago

Giuseppe Nelva, why are you writing for Twinfinite? Dualshockers to that site is a major downgrade...
