Why would they be, it's ANOTHER HD game which will probably only be a little bit better but only available for the PC, what about PS4/Xbox One versions.

I just feel they've released this more times because RE5 onwards have all disappointed fans

They should of done a better HD edition but with a crap load of new content, maybe cut levels etc, new modes, new guns, better mercenaries. Why is it for the mercenaries mode they can't do it WITHOUT the stupid time limit, as an option, seriously I want to see how long I could last without breaking those silly clocks.

I don't see why it's so hard for them to make a good RE game...they need to reboot it now though, they've ruined the story and characters way too much. You know my idea, reboot-retelling, same characters, same starter story but different future events.

"I just feel they've released this more times because RE5 onwards have all disappointed fans."

I think this sentence you said makes a lot of sense. 5 and 6 were Capcom's embrace of "nu-horror", where they say it's horror, but it has more action setpieces than a Michael Bay movie. Capcom knows that everyone liked RE4, so they're just cranking out another one to get every drop of relevancy onto the market. (We'll probably have a 4K re-release when that catches on too)

RE4 is great. I love that game so much, but I totally agree that another re-release of this game, only with a better frame rate and HD on PC, is no reason to buy this again, especially at $20.

RE4 already came out on the PC.... I'm pretty sure the PS3 and 360 HD versions were based on the PC code so they could actually be "HD", using the best assets etc. This can only really be a blatant cash grab, as you can get this on PC, and have been able to do so since May 2007.

Supposedly, the best way to play RE4 is to run the Wii Edition on the Dolphin emulator with a good PC, then apply the HD texture mod.
The original PC version was based on the inferior PS2 version (less polygons, worse lighting etc)

I hope this new HD PC edition is based on the Gamecube graphics and not PS2. For all the releases this game has had, none have truly done it justice in all areas.

Milruka3774d ago

It would be nice if they did use the gamecube models. But by the looks of it, I'd hardly call this a "HD" version so far.

weirdo3774d ago

port it to ps4 please capcom!

LoaMcLoa3774d ago

It's been re-released like 5 times already. Pretty much everyone has played it.

Hold on a minute, speak for yourselves! I want the HD Remake for the PC! Last PC version was awful and didn't take advantage of the PC's strength. I think that this is a good opportunity to get a proper version in our hands, even though it is very late.

Resident Evil 1 Remake To Have Slower Pace; Will Further Expand On The Game's Lore

Many details for the upcoming rumored Resident Evil 1 remake have already leaked online. Capcom appears to have huge ambitions for it.

XiNatsuDragnel3d ago

Sounds interesting I'll be interested in the second remake of re1

Cacabunga3d ago

They game cube remake was mind blowing.. another remake would be nice but i was really hoping for Code Veronica first

-Foxtrot3d ago

If it's true they are probably leading up to RE5 with the Chris vs Wesker story

RE1, CV and then RE5

Terry_B3d ago

Their REmake is still one of the best 3 video game remakes ever made.

Cacabunga3d ago

Terry

Zero was not a remake but an amazing game as well. I hope they remake that one one day with some coop play.. great great game

maelstromb3d ago

The whole Lisa Trevor side-story was an incredible addition and really fleshed out more of the lore. It could have easily felt tacked on to artificially extend the length of the game, but it felt 'right' like it should have been in there from the beginning. I'm hoping they include that in the Re-remake.

Yui_Suzumiya3d ago

Code Veronica definitely needs it the most!

Cant wait until they cut the basement section and replace it with something worse.

Becuzisaid3d ago

While I want another modern remake of 1, I think code Veronica should be first. The first re1 remake holds up amazingly well. Give CV it's due.

As long as the Crimson Heads are back.

Nerdmaster3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

I hope they don't. They were created mainly to justify Wesker not really dying, and they do create more tension, but they don't make much sense.
Re-reviving things that were twice dead? Why would the virus stop there and not keep reviving them forever (until the head gets destroyed)?
And also the characters knowing that destroying their heads keep them from becoming crimson heads, while having a combat knife and lots of heavy objects around to do it while they're down, but having to rely on lucky shots or burning them with oil?
They can create other stuff that serves the same purpose of creating tension but that makes more sense.

Hey Capcom I want a remake of Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 on Switch or, maybe Switch 2. I loved both of those games on GameCube.

MeteorPanda13d ago

Good. capcom and square enix were my two favourite developers and now it's just CapCom! Square enix keeps missing the mark, their sparks gone.
