At least, that’s what this video is implying. It’s Sengoku Basara 4 being picked up by a couple of tarento ladies as the video attempts to show us how easy the PlayStation 3 game will be, even if you just button mash.
Capcom has published a special feature detailing the story behind development of the Sengoku Basara series on its investor relations website.
The story is a narrated account featuring series producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and director Makoto Yamamoto. It details a 2003 Capcom whose business was in dire straits, and who were focusing on sequels to hit titles that would guarantee success. When Kobayashi proposed the idea for a new kind of action game, Capcom was reluctant, but company president Kenzo Tsujimoto gave him the green light. The game’s team was mocked within the company at first, as most believed it to be a game that would never sell, but what ultimately came to fruition was something that the entire company had faith in.
