Titanfall Xbox One beta registration emails go out to verified Battlefield 4 Xbox One owners

Rory Young of Neoseeker writes: "It appears that the Titanfall Xbox One beta is quickly approaching after we received reports that EA is has begun registration for the event. Simply head over to the "Standby for Titanfall" page on the official Titanfall website. While scams related to Titanfall's beta have been prolific in recent months, it really doesn't get much more official than Origin's verified logins. "

Just checked my yahoo and was pleased to see the registration email. It said it was alpha testing not beta, and I had to agree to a long terms of conditions. "If your chosen to participate, no posting footage on websites blah blah blah."

Well...here is to hoping I get in. Application accepted.

Very excited for this game!

MorePowerOfGreen3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Titanfall APP accepted. Already in project spark although I can't use the windows 8.1 version I'll wait for the XB1 code.

I'd be mad if I didn't get my application accepted I'm a level 105 colonel with just over 200 hours in.

Many, myself included, have said Titanfall is just a COD clone, that just as many have said otherwise, and yet beta invites are going out to COD gamers?

Did you not read the article or even the title of it? It clearly states numerous times it's going out to registered BF4 owners

Dannycr3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Maybe he didn't explain himself correctly and maybe he was trying to say that it is weird that it wasn't the COD fans the ones getting the invites?

If that is the case, then it would make sense that it was BF4 getting the invites since Respawn are Infinity Ward ex employees with an obvious agenda of trying to out-match COD (which at this point will be fairly easy due to most hardcore COD fans hating on Ghosts and this game trying to genuinely add some fresh elements to a tired genre without trying to copy the other games like BF, KZ or Crysis).

hazardman3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Or it could just be that both games are published by EA. So it makes sense BF4 players get the invites.

Epic fail on your part.

How you can make such a blunder is beyond me. That meme applies better to your post lol.

Also, for arguments sake, if it did go out to COD gamers, it means its proof that its a glorified COD clone??

I guess by your ill fated logic, this is now a Battlefield clone eh?

Godmars2903781d ago

"I guess by your ill fated logic, this is now a Battlefield clone eh?"

Its actually all the same to me. Last gen was pretty much ruined by everyone from EA to Square making a FPS, making a COD clone, so what's one more?

If all this game does is appeal to the the COD crowd its likely going to be great to EA, but really, what's the point of talking up how "innovative" and "different" it is if its only going to get the same people who buy the MADDEN of FPS?

Gazondaily3781d ago

If Titanfall, COD and Battlefield are the same to you, well then there's no point in me even trying to explain why you're wrong. You just seem to not like competitive FPS'.

Well be it as it may, take it from someone who is a fan of fps' and played them for a long time, they are not the same. Your belief that this is a cod clone holds no weight at all.

In any case, why are you bothered? You won't be buying it anyway. Leave the discussion to us fans of competitive FPS'.

Godmars2903781d ago

It concerns me because often times the COD crowd represents the worst of the gaming community. The rep for foul mouthed racist eight year olds started with it and Halo.

And as I said before: want of being the next COD has effected how other games have been made for a console cycle. And not in a good way.

trollout3781d ago

Dude I seriously would not lose too much over the 360 version. If it is at all comparable I would be highly aurprised

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad623d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g622d ago (Edited 622d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad903d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal901d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
