IGN - Alien: Isolation – The Most Authentic Alien Game Ever?

IGN - When Alien was originally hawked about Hollywood by writers Dan O’Bannon and Ron Shusett it was crudely pitched as ‘Jaws in Space’. It was a monster movie in space. The final production even had a man in a rubber suit, albeit an extremely tall and unnaturally lithe Nigerian who was spotted in a West London boozer.

Why can't they just basically copy Left 4 Dead gameplay except with some differences.

Probably the best choice, the only good alien games was Alien trilogy on PS1 and the original AVP in my opinion.. The AVP remake was also not so bad i guess.

I thought AVP2 was awesome as well. Have barely touched AVP 2010 on Ps3, maybe I should give it a another go.

As skeptical as I am, I can't deny what's being shown so far looks quite good. Thankfully, Gearbox isn't involved with this.

The major major problem.....is the ship that they are putting the character on. Was blown up by Ripley at the end of the movie!!!!!!!!

So once again they are changing up the story line in order to make a game.

Oh let's make the main character Ripley daughter. Smh.

There are so many great alien spin off stories that could have been used.

This could be a surprise hit...but based on what I just wrote i suspect I won't be able to like it.

Ps I'm also curious what bs they going to make up on how there is even an alien on the ship????

The nostromo is the main ship in the first alien. The walk through I just watched specifically talked about how the replicated the interior from the classic alien film.

So did they copy the ship..but give it another name?

My understanding is that this is the nostromo after the events in alien. Am I wrong?

Edit. Just re-read the basis for alien isolation..it is indeed supposed to be based on the nostromo...which was blown up in alien.

No, the space station is called the Sevastopol. It's based on the aesthetics of the Nostromo to stay true to the film's look, but is not the same ship.
