Better textures on the character models, interior walls, massive improvement in lighting and shadows, and much more detail on the zombies themselves. Dead Rising 3 is leaps and bounds ahead of its last gen predecessor in the graphics department.
The Dead Rising series has enjoyed a long and storied history over the years, but which game in the series is best?
Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.
Interesting timing. This retrospective was released just a few days ago: https://youtu.be/Et-cKSrWuc...
They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.
This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.
Some video game weapons are so outlandish they could never realistically be used, and that's why they're on our list of the 10 most impractical weapons in gaming.
Only those with poor eyesight or who are in denial would say there is little to no difference between last and next gen DR.
The graphics are obviously better, but I'm disappointed with the zombie variety. If you look closely, every single Zombie has the same body texture with the exact same scars. Nearly the exact same face on them, just different hair and clothes. That's about the only real difference. I'm expecting more than that from next gen, so hopefully that gets better in Dead Rising 4.
Even look at the details on the hat it's pretty obvious DR3 is huge improvement. Unfortunately not my type of game.
Would love to see the new gen versions of
GTA
Gears of War
PGR
Halo
Fable
BF5 (the true new gen version not the half hearted port)
COD (as above)
What a great idea, let's compare the graphics of a 2011 last-gen game to a 2013 current-gen game...
The lighting is the big difference. Character models, animations... most the same.
