Turbine has announced today that former subscribers to Lord of the Rings Online can comeback and play as their old characters this weekend. The free Welcome Back Weekend starts May 8th and continues through May 12th
Turbine's insanely easy contest could leave you with 100,000 points in your pocket.
It's been three years since Turbine launched Lord of the Rings Online, which means it's time for a third anniversary celebration.
The celebration will take place from April 21st until June 30th. Every player who logs into the game during that time frame will receive a special Writ of Virtue, which will offer a permanent 20% discount with Bards.
MMOs like to bring a bit of the real world into their on-screen one, so it's not unusual to see real-life celebrations, or a parody of them, imported into the games.
Christmas is one of those periods that often make the cross-over, along with Halloween and Easter, so IncGamers has put together a run-down of festive events that are taking place in some of the most popular MMOs right now.
Speaking from experience, players on WoW's RP servers really get in to the spirit of things. It's a lovely environment, I always like to log on just to say happy Christmas to all my friends.
Nice to have this list of MMO events. There are so many these days, its nice to see some side by side :D
Aion will have lots more next year. The western market is so different to the eastern one.
im sure this will keep Halo 3 players off for awhlie. lol
For somebody who generally somewhat dislikes MMOs, I thought LOTRO was surprisingly fun.
