‘Final Fantasy X HD’ PS3 and PS Vita graphics comparison video

Square Enix will release Final Fantasy X HD for PS3 and PS Vita in North America on March 18, but a new video has been released showing the visual difference between the PS3 and PS Vita version of the game.

to me they did an excellent job on the vita version which is the one i'll be playing on as this will kill plenty of time on the train ride to work and back.

I don't see much difference at all other then the ps3 having a much better color palette... I would rather see the vita version on it's intended screen resolution and what it looks like in the OLED vita and LCD Slim vita which I own.

The Vita is truely a PS3 in your pocket. Its amazing how a handheld can hold its own against a console. Now that the ps4 is out, with the PS Vita you have a PS4 on the go. Amazing.

Actually it is quite bad to compare it this way. Since with Vita TV it will be upscaled in attempt to fix the screen. Imagine 960x544 > 1280x720p / 1920/1080i. Thou I have no info on this but "assuming" if the Vita version of the game is already not running on native resolution then with that extra upscale and stretching would just make everything look even worst. Guess when you look at the part where it close up to Tidus his hair and etc obviously exhibit that visual flaw. So a proper comparison should be direct feed from Vita showing side by side to direct feed from PS3. That will give a more accurate result.

I believe the Vita version of the game when actually running on the handheld would look much better than it is on this video. Especially if it is on the OLED model. All in all it is nice that SE can bring the both game so close in their visuals considering 1 is handheld and another is console. Before anyone start bashing me over what I said. Just want to clarify that I still believe PS3 ver should technically look better than the handheld version. Since I do know Vita is not exactly as powerful as than PS3 itself. I own both platform too and I do have some cross platform games which I do agree in most scenario PS3 usually have more details and etcs. But I still find the way using Vita TV to compare dont make sense to me over the reasons I pointed out.

I hope it comes to ps4 as I don't have a ps3 anymore. This wasn't one of my favourite ff games tbh, I felt the linear corridors and no proper world map was the beginning of what has eventually evolved into what we see in ff13 but I still spent 150 hours on it back in the day and thise trophies look like a nice challenge

I am not even the slightest impressed with either version, i have my ps2 copy of the game and its just not a big enough jump to make it worth buying again imo , i have tried the hd remake and alas i wont be buying it, i will just play the original when i want some ff10 fun again. Dont take me as an rpg hater or FF hater, final fantasy games are by far the best games i have ever played imo and i immerse myself in them every day from playing ff7,8,10 ost on my pc to playing ff7,8,9,10,10part2 and 12 on my ps1 and ps2 often. Also named my daughter who is now just about 2 years old Rinoa.

Will this look any better with the OLED screen? Seems like Vita colors are just off but usually when I record gameplay on my Vita the colors always appear to be grayer.

I wonder what this will look like on my slim , and I wonder as well how much the record equipment messed with the Colors , because graphics wise they look the same but color wise the ps3 seems to have deeper richer color compared to the vita in the footage.

There will be a slight difference in Color when OLED vs LCD..

OLED has brighter colors, well we all know that. Other than that, I think that it will still look good on both models :)

Not impressed with the dead Vita portable unit. Not impressed at all. Colors seemed a bit washed. The PS3 does look better than the Vita, so obviously the PS3 is going to look great in comparison.

However, the vita can hold its own against a 7th gen console. To me that is impressive.

Yes it's your opinion the PS3 ver looks better cause resolution, but the colors on PSV Oled screen (not VitaTV) looks more vivid than on my Sony TV, not anything close to "watched" and yes I have both ver PS3 and PSV, I'm not basing it off from this youtube !

Higher res textures and better shaders on PS3. And then there's the weird difference in colour, which could be from the capture and would wary from screen to screen anyway. Though that is a big difference in skintone.

I would probably go with the Vita, because I'd rather have this on a handheld.

vita version looks good. the comparison is similar to the psvita and ps3 versions of metal gear solid hd (mgs 2 and mgs 3), where the colours are slightly washed out on the psvita version and there is much more detail on the ps3 version. hope the gameplay is good on the psvita version with a stable frame rate.

Ps3 is made for big tvs and vita is made for a 5 inches screen!
at a 5 inches screen this final fantasy X will look amazing on vita, almost as good as the Ps3. in the other hand, if you put the 2 version side by side in a big screen you will see this, FFX is handsdown better on PS3!

Vita will look worse in 1080p comparison because it probably is a lower res. On the PSVita I think it will look good and look even better if brightness and contrast are adjustable.

graphics aside nomatter what ffx was my sole reason of purchasing Vita day 1. So above all both versions look AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL.And to put a huge game such as FFX on Vita is mind blowing name another handheld that can pull that off! You cant. because only Vita can do it.

VitaTv upscales the graphics for the TV. Vita won't. On a Vita it will look more sharp and clean. Because it wont be stretched. All the ugly box pixel stuff on the VitaTV demo is from upscale. (PS3:1920x1080 and Vita:960x544 put on a 1080p screen)

This is just a cinematic trailer. I would except with gameplay that the shadows, lighting, and color pallet will look better on PS3(duh lol).

I like this video lots tho because it shows the effects of upscale. All the XB1 fans playing 720/900 upscaled to 1080 should see no difference. :P

I wish they compared this to the emulator. I was trying out my FF X disc on the Ps2 emulator, and it looked amazing, not sure if it was as good as this though.
