Fans bring Resident Evil: Outbreak back online

Rely on Horror: Where there is a will, there’s a way. Outbreak Server Recreation Project is a fan-made revival of Capcom’s Resident Evil: Outbreak spinoff series. Developed by some determined fans, both Outbreak and Outbreak File #2 can once again be played over the internet with other players, now through custom made servers designed by fans.

Insane to finally hear this happening, I remember being online when they shut the servers down and how long it's been in the works to bring them back. Hopefully NA people can join in on this because I would be all over it!

American copies are not supported, because they're missing the packet for something im not sure about.

Holy shit will have to track down a Japanese copy of this game. Still have my PS2 with a Network adapter and a slim PS2.

Not so easy..Capcom must provide rights for the game to be play online even if the servers are not own from them the content is.

If you bought the product then you own the rights to use the software in whatever way you like.
You will only get problems if you benefit from doing stuff like that

Well, you are partly right. You can't technically do "whatever" you want with it but there shouldn't be a problem with this. As long as they aren't profiting off it, Capcom probably won't care.

If Capcom wasn't so out of touch with what it's consumers wanted they would have put up HD remakes for the psn and xbox live marketplaces both in a bundle for 19.99. Easy revenue right there but remember this is Capcom they are freaking idiots.

I always wanted a newer better version of this. I want online when this came out and neither was my cousin who wanted to play with me. I was always interested in the idea behind this game.

Capcom will use that as marketing test and might end up releasing an HD version of it for a quick cash in.

It's been on for a while now. You can play it through PC and download the Silent Hell translation patch to play in English. However, you are going to need an ethernet cord.....
