Super Mario 3D World is not a port of the 3DS’ Super Mario 3D Land. In fact, it is a completely new title and one which fits quite nicely into the “Mario Universe Canon.” New powerups, enemies, levels, and playable characters merely scratch the surface of all that is introduced in this excellent videogame.
There’s still hope for Super Mario 3D World’s legacy in this modern era of Nintendo.
If they do make a sequel, they should incorporate Bowser’s Fury’s game design into the mix. Think Bowser’s Fury’s overworld where you can find warp points to linear levels like Mario 3D World.

I still say the series peaked with Galaxy. They've put out good stuff since then, but nothing really matched up.
It's time for Nintendo to give the Super Mario 3D World formula another chance with a new game built from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is my favorite Mario. I'd event take a remaster/remake.
My favourite Mario’s are Mario 64 and SM World SNES. Neither Odyssey nor 3D World were great imo.
I totally agree, Mario 3d world is the best game of 2013, This is the mario game I have always wanted, and everything about it is perfect, unlike ALL PS4 AND XBOX ONE GAMES, Mario 3d world HAS NO JAGGED EDGES, NO DROP IN FRAME RATE, it runs at full 1080p at 60 frames per second, No ps4 game or x box one game can claim that!!! this is video gaming at it's best! Sorry Rayman, but the true King, takes back his crown of platformers!! MARIO RULES!!
